I think record matters, but you have to factor in talent and schedule too. The FSU talent is not there, esp without Travis. I mean, I would argue Liberty should be ranked over FSU. FSU would have had as good a chance as anyone without Travis? Did you see the Louisville game? Come on, dude. You have got to be kidding me. They woulda got killed by any of those 4 teams. The bigger question is how the hell is Georgia not in the final 4? If we’re going by the “best 4 teams” and they have been #1 for 3 straight friggin’ years, how do they lose one game by 3 points and drop to 6? We show less advertisements to registered users. They would have had a good of a chance as anyone. But they didn't get the chance because opinion > record. Why play the games?

FSU without Travis almost lost to a Florida team that Georgia absolutely obliterated. Again, even without their best players minus Travis, this game would be no contest.

When you play two really bad teams (Florida and Louisville), actually look like a top 4 team. How did FSU do vs a Florida team that Georgia whipped up and down the field.

Why even have the ACC as a P5 team anyway? Is it just for [BLEEP] and grins? FSU was the weakest of the group and they have showed the last three games why. Without Travis they stink. Hell, with Travis, they barely beat a really bad BC and Clemson team. The ACC had a bad year. If FSU was in the Big 10 or SEC they’d prolly have 3 or 4 losses. They’re better off staying in ACC where next year the conf champ is gauranteed a top 4 seed. Georgias backups are all in and they’re still beating the [BLEEP] out of FSU. Let’s go to the practice squad. Maybe FSU can stay within a few TDs of them. Georgia might hang 80 on them before this one is over. 63-3 with 12:10 left to play lol.
Yeah, I mean this is Georgia’s backups so let’s not get into the FSU backup excuses. This result wouldn’t be much different if FSUs starters played minus Travis.

Well that’s next year. We can only go with what we have and the rules in place. Yeah, it’s an opinion game, unfortunately. If we go by record, then Liberty would be in the conversation. Didn’t they go undefeated? In all seriousness, I actually like FSU a lot. But I don’t think they belong in the final four based on the rules in place. Injuries do matter, according to the rules, and FSU has not looked anything like a good football team without Travis. I would root for hell like them in the final 4, but I also think they’d get humiliated. Why do you think Michigan reacted the way they did when Bama’s logo came up instead of FSU’s? They’re not dumb…they know.
So much for that playoff worthy team from Tallahassee. This is precisely what the selection committee was intending to avoid on New Years day.

Still 100% better than that team in Gainesville.. Got an award winning coach too.. Regardless of the snub, the future is bright!!

I’d rather be the gators and not get a bowl game than get smoked by an all time record to the hated dawgs. One of my best friends is a noles fan. Im sure he’s hurting right now, so I’ll make sure not to bring it up anymore. 60 points wow

This is not a game you can really judge. Teams like FSU are not as deep as teams like UGA. However, their top guys are just as good.(12-30-2023, 07:31 PM)WingerDinger Wrote: Doesn't matter what I think. There is no chance I would have played that game if I was the president of fsu. What an embarrassing decision driven by profit.

Didn't even watch, because the game was a farce and of no value.
