Before his pro-day, one more impressive video, err 'Vine': Manziel throwing blindfolded

Again, somewhat oldish video(or 'Vine'), but heading into his pro-day, it's a good precursor to what we're gonna see. IMO, Johnny's primed to surprise a lot of people who don't realize he's one of the best passers out there.

While practicing throwing with a blindfold may sound like a strange idea to some, George Whitfield requires it of all his QBs, and he should know, he's trained some of the very best. Besides working on a whole range of throwing fundamentals, Whitfield gets his QBs to also throw blindfolded, heightening their awareness of the field to a new level. Strange or not, the success of Whitfield's students speaks for itself.

Overall with a blindfold, Manziel completed 93 percent of his passes in a passing section with quarterback coach George Whitfield Jr. He was 27-of-29 while blindfolded. Something that impressed even Whitfield.

Looking forwards to Manziel's pro-day tomorrow. I think people who think he's just a 'running quarterback' are going to be very surprised.

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

And to think, if Johnny goes as the first QB in this year's draft, this will be the third time that a "George Whitfield trained QB" went number 1.

Yeah you're right, these number-1 QBs that Whitfield trains are losers...

Why didn't you just add this to your other "skills that don't apply to being an NFL qb" thread?

I'm interested in how he throws without the blindfold.  If I were a GM, I'd make sure he passes without it at his pro-day.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Not mad...but it sure will be hard for Manziel to have a good pro day with you clinging all over his leg.

But if he plans to wear it in the NFL, what difference does it matter if he throws without it during his pro day?

You guys crack me up.

"Top-5 QB prospect that your team could pick in the draft this year, working with same QB-guru who helped Cam Newton and Andrew Luck make the transition from college to the pro"-a non news story? lol.

Newton trains with Whitfield, it's big news. Luck trains with Whitfield, it's big news. When Winston (presumably) will train with Whitfield next year, it will be big news. Manziel trains with Whitfield. Non-news story on Jaguars boards.
