I want tha Baltimore dude.

Would love a younger buck with some swagger.

Doesn’t the NFL feel sometimes like players aren’t even trying? Like players are taking more plays off these days? Especially on defense, the tackling is just atrocious in the NFL these days

Need a D coordinator who doesn’t put up with ANY BS

I think they end adding at least one man cover CB to the mix if we go with one of these three DCs that love man coverage

If so, I think it would be a huge mistake to hire one of those DC's.  We don't need to create more holes on the roster to fill.  We need a defensive coordinator that can maximize the talent of our existing players.  Our existing players are better suited to zone.
Looking like they are striking out and having to go deep down coaching trees now.

Unbelievable. You would think we can get a professional defensive coordinator the caliber, that could help us become a Super Bowl contender. SMH Especially with having someone like Coach Peterson, who won a Super Bowl already

Too many head coach jobs still open. Once those dry up the top candidates will be open to DC roles.

I think Pederson is doing his due diligence this time because he's entering year three this upcoming season and his window is closing if he doesn't get this team over the hump. I would rather him wait it out a little bit longer and land the right man for the job.

So then everyone is striking out? No one has signed an OC or DC and very few HC jobs have been filled. The only HC jobs filled are the ones who kept coaches in house (Pierce and Mayo).

Pierce is a good hire, mayo was hired just to ensure the 1st pick in 2025.

Mayo is even more inexperienced than Brandon Staley before he was hired in San Diego. He's never called a play. Time will tell, but it seems Kraft let his infatuation with the in-house guy cloud the full landscape of more experienced, viable options.

Eric Bienemy
Brian Flores (my top choice)
Leslie Frazier
Raheem Morris (a close second)
Mike Vrabel (another close second)
latest young hotshot offensive coordinator -- pick one: Dave Canales/Ben Johnson/Bobby Slowik (probably Slowik because his agent is not demanding to back up the Brinks truck)

Harbaugh is probably headed to San Diego and Belicheat to Atlanta.

Siriani might get canned, too, as the mercurial owner Lurie continues to stew over what went wrong. Siriani is an arrogant punk, so I enjoy rooting against the Iggles.

I don't know why the Eric Bienemy train is still on the tracks. There's a reason teams won't hire him as a HC. I couldn't tell you what all of the reasons are, but it's been rumored that he interviews poorly. This would indicate he is unprepared to wear all of the different hats which are required of a head coach. He's hit his limit as a coordinator, and while at KC, Andy Reid was doing most of the offensive heavy lifting.

He's definitely a guy most football fans would like to see rise to the top, but the fact of the matter is he is not cut out to be a HC. At least to team owners who have interviewed him.

Are other teams interviewing college position coaches yet?

Relax, they are taking the slow approach. Kahn got burned with Urban when he got all giddy he could get him. I would say by next Friday?

We have to realize, none of us really know Trent Baalke.  We don't know what he's thinking or feeling or anything else.  As much as we criticize him, he is a human being.  When we were 3-14, the criticism was withering.  Now we're 9-8 twice, and yet he's facing another offseason of negativity with everyone calling for his head.  Maybe he just doesn't want to go through it again.  So maybe he will just walk away.

If Pederson has a beef with the personnel control arrangement - and feels like Baalke has fought too hard for the wrong guys in their "joint picks" the past two years, then rumors of the GM getting ready to walk would make sense.

We know that Khan did not give Baalke control over Doug in the traditional sense that a GM might with a HC in many orgs. They are both supposedly accountable to Khan individually and under direction to work together on personnel.

If Doug feels they can't work together on personnel effectively and asks for change - Khan is much more likely to side with Pederson than Baalke IMO. (by a long measure)

I also think this stuff is probably all unfounded rumor at this point, but we'll see...

This is a believable take.  It is correct we do not know.  The reason? Kahn is a successful executive and they tend to be to the point, confidential and hold people accountable.  Baalkie has been confidential since he has been here as has Doug.   Doug when asked about the line has always been very brief and when asked about our center the most he has said is Fortner is our center.  This makes sense as he is our only center besides Shatley who at best could be considered a back up.

Since Doug has been here I have only heard 2 rumors about the draft on the o-line. First Doug wanted to "fix" the line immediately upon his arrival. Second, Kahn asked Both Doug and Rauscher if Harrison could start day one at RT just before they picked him.

I would guess (and that is all it is) Doug wanted another O-lineman with the third/fourth round pick last year.  He was for the second year over ruled and made a request directly to Kahn.

False  Doug has always praised Fortner and has even mentioned him as one of our building blocks.  He's mentioned numerous times that Fortner has played well.

Meh, I'm not buying this either.  What about round 2?  Strange was a Doug pick.  Doug has also said numerous times the offense line hasn't played well because of injuries.

How do you know Strange was a Doug pick?
