Former Pres Bush expected to be at what is being called "biggest pro-day ever at A&M" tomorrow.

And considering the pace and the amount of throws attempted, I was impressed. Still, some of the short throws at the end were a bit low, and like one of the interveiwees said, they would have been at risk for getting batted in live play. Still though, overall very impressive. Nothing that should scare you away at all if you like him, and maybe some small areas that he could improve on. But I enjoyed the speed of his drops especially. I keep coming back to that. No hops, no weird movement, just confident and natural movement to his spots. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! If the Jags dont draft this guy it will be the biggest mistake in the history of the franchise.

Texans and Jags to have private meetings with Manziel this afternoon.

Quote:Yeah, Kid sold me today...I didnt think I wanted him here but he was very impressive...Clowney or Johnny for me...If Clowney is there at 3 and Atlanta wants him do you trade back to 6 and hope Johnny falls to you???? Not if the Jags really really like him. Because some one else could come up and snatch him from you. If he's the man, you don't screw around.
Jaguars need to trade up to #1 to draft Manziel. Give up a #2 and #3 and next years #1.
And today prisco mocked him in the second and expected his "weak arm" to show at his proday....

Jeez, the guy is electric. Him and Gus (and Blackmon) would *seriously* be the bestest buddies.
I am all for him at 3. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Sounds like he's had the best pro day out of anyone.
I was completely sold on Clowney at 3 if he's there, but it's so confusing now. Manziel would be awesome to have, but it just seems more and more like from how the Jags are talking, a QB won't be the pick at #3.

This QB class needs to ride the bench at least a year.
Anyone who drafts JohnnyCircus is going to have to deal with the pressure from the mob of fans and media that doesn't want that to happen.

Quote:Nothing that wasn't present when many Colts fans welcomed their heir-apparent savior Luck, or how some in Carolina spoke about Cam Newton before their draft. So you mention 3 teams that all drafted "once in a generation" players within the last few years. I dont think you really know what "once in a generation" means. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:This QB class needs to ride the bench at least a year. Id be careful in assuming that any of these guys need to sit. You dont know til they start practicing. It would not be unprecedented for a second-third round guy to start day one.
Will he be better than Russell Wilson? I am a concerned with his arc on some of his throws, TAMU's offensive style, his poise in the pocket, and his willingness to avoid unnecessary hits. If he's projected to be better than Wilson then we should seriously consider taking him 3rd overall.
Quote:And today prisco mocked him in the second and expected his "weak arm" to show at his proday.... Prisco doesn't seem to like any QB under 6' 4" Which is ironic, given his own vertically challenged stature.

I'd be careful in dismissing scout and GM assessments (including our own Dave Caldwell) who are saying exactly this.

If the Jags decide to go QB that early, the only QB that would maybe justify #3 value would be Manziel, IMO. Clowney Manziel (if drafting QB that early) Mack / Watkins / Matthews if the above go #1 #2 I'm down with it. Quote:I'd be careful in dismissing scout and GM assessments (including our own Dave Caldwell) who are saying exactly this. How can they possibly know for sure unless they start practice? Its nothing but coachspeak. Pete Carrol would not say RW should start immediately before even drafting him
If we take Johnny then take Shaw later on to back him up then tell Henne to take a hike
