Unfair to some schools. Extreme lack of parody.

And how is that different than it is now? Also, there are only so many players that can start and have meaningful minutes during a game.

Its not like only big money schools will have players. Because some guys will go elsewhere so they can start, to help ensure a shot at the NFL.

....again just like they do now...

Quote:I had a student tell me yesterday that he doesn't need to read because he won't need it in his future job.  I asked him what that was.  He answered that it was playing football.

I began to explain to him that in order to reach the NFL, he would first have to meet at least minimum admissions requirements for college and attend three years, because you could not be NFL draft eligible without three years of college.

He proceeded to put his fingers in his ears, called me a hater, and told me I was trying to keep him down and crush his dreams.

I don't even know where to file this, but your post reminded me of it.
This is what children think is reality today. You are a hater for telling him he has to learn how to read. Probably making Mom and Dad real proud...

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

Quote:The point is that it would make it worse. At least now they have to try to not get caught.

If they allowed this, then they should create a whole other league with only the biggest schools.

Bye bye Vanderbilt

Well we are moving in that direction anyways.  If you arent in a power conference, you may/will get left behind.  We'll essentially have two classes of D1-A football. Power conference teams and mid major.  Followed by the 1-AA teams.

I will say there is something nice about the Ivy League teams.  You know they arent competing at an elite level in football but they truly do have student-athletes.  And can have success in the other sports such as basketball if you have the right coach/system in place.  As a Vandy grad, if you told me in 15 years, we'd be in a "Southern Oak League" along with the likes of Georgia Tech, Duke, Rice, UVA, etc... elite level southern schools, I dont know that I would be opposed to that.  Even if we became non-scholarship in football.  They could form their own basketball league/network similar to the Big East.  And along with booster donations could continue to have high caliber basketball teams.  And with the recruiting base, I dont see baseball suffering much.  Its only football that would be reduced to a more 1-AA level.

Why would they care if people make fun of some schools more than others?

How does he expect to read/learn his playbook? Hold it against his head and hope it diffuses into his brain?

I know that. There's usually more to it than pictures.

I brought this up, as well.  "That's just X's and O's."
