Former Pres Bush expected to be at what is being called "biggest pro-day ever at A&M" tomorrow.

Lol, down with this too!

Although, Manziel then Shaw/Brett Smith later. Either one would be good.

"His deep balls: great touch, great trajectory," said NFL Network's Kurt Warner. "If I looked at the starting quarterback in the National Football League, 20 of the starting quarterbacks can't do those things."

I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Magic Manziel, Clutch Cecil, Ballin Blackmon, Trucking Toby, Ace in Space, Joeckel Stonewall.

Sounds like a nice offense.

I rolled on the floor laughing, With all those missed reads in the pocket Manziel had to improvise. If he had just stuck to the play book (or just be Teddy Bridgewater) A&M would have been in the National Title hunt late

Pete Carrol would not say RW should start immediately before even drafting him

How do they know?  Probably because they kinda do this thing for a living, unlike you and me.

What you plan to do (based on your evaluation of readiness,) and what you end up having to do (out of necessity, among other things) are two entirely different things.  It surely factored into where he was drafted, and most teams aren't in the luxury of drafting a QB in the top five and can afford to plan to sit them a year.  That's this draft class in a nutshell.  If you go early, you're going to be giving more than you get based on them all likely needing some level of "seasoning" before given the keys... especially since none of those needy teams (outside Houston) are anywhere near being a complete team (minus the QB) like Seattle was.

The normal ones, or the extra sticky wide receiver ones?

He usually uses the WR ones, but supposedly they don't work well when they get too wet.

I kind of wonder if Manziel set the standard for pro-days going forwards today(and by that I mean his attire, and the game-like simulation/setup). Wouldn't be totally surprised to see Winston and Mariotta come out in helmets and pads next year.

Perhaps we'll tell our kids, "Yeah sonny, I can still remember the day when QBs on pro-day wore only t-shirts and shorts. That was all before Johnny Football came along". And the legend grows(sarcasm added), lol.

They dont know for sure. GMs can guess that they will need time, but that isnt a guarantee.

Im not aware that there are different kinds of gloves. I have heard of lineman gloves, but I dont think there is a difference between QB/WR

Wow, you really don't like the kid, huh?

Manziel easily had the best pro day of the QBs.  Good for him.

Manziel's pro day has just shot him to the top.  One of those QB needy teams are going to offer a crazy boat load of draft picks to the Texans for that #1 pick and it isn't going to be the Jags.

I really hope not! I hope that O'Brien is committed to taking Bortles. At the very least so that we can take advantage of the hype and trade back or just draft Manziel for ourselves. A worst case draft scenario as far as the first round goes would be to draft someone other than Manziel at #3 if JFF is just sitting there. I rather draft him just to trade to the highest bidder after that assuming he's not Dave's guy.

Please let someone blow half their draft on that guy. For one, it prevents us from taking him. Two, it might finally put a sock in the Booze Crew's yapping about how the Jaguars have to take him.

You're really dumb and your bias slip is showing. You don't let the competition draft him for nothing.

What I observed was the best orchestrated pro day. Everything was choregraphed including a former President and sitting Governor. I am sure they invited Pope Francis.

Helmet and pads was a nice touch. No body thought of this before, then again this was carefully planned

This was also designed to reduce any maturity questions that teams might have questioned in the past caused by petulant outbursts.

His gretting of Team Executives and Coaches, his obvious displays of who is in charge between delays in the huddle.

The post Gala interview on eSPiN where he talked of working hard and being part of the team.

At the end of the day we still have a sub 5'11" quarterback who was accurate and showed command of a range of throws.

He did not hinder his chances, he had the best showing of the top 3. Johnny did well.

If your a fanboy, it was lights out.

Any way you look at it imho, he is not a once in a generation product.

He did very well, but is not in the Luck catagory.

HeadSlap

ps. If the JAGS draft him and he gets on the Gus Juice, he won't be able to stay in the pocket ;-)

When they have no time,  they think about it!

When they go down hard, they think about it!

Just watch Peyton, Andrew, Caep even Mr. Bundchen.

he would be the most excited Qb Jville has seen since Mark Brunell. Why is that bad thing? That was the last time our team did anything in the post season and the seats were filled. To me it's a no brainer. Draft him or hold the draft for ransom when the Jags are on the clock.

Bias? Yeah, you bet I'm biased. He handled the pressure of playing QB at Texas A&M so well that his own father said Johnny would be happier in jail than on a football field. His physical skills put him at a first-round level, no doubt, but I don't want Kerry Collins 2.0 to set the Jaguars back by another decade when he up and quits during his third year.
