For my preference, I’d like to see us get a speed WR, a man-to-man CB, and the rest of the draft be devoted big nasty beef along both lines.

I also wouldn’t mind a late round RB that can actually get 2 yards between the tackles when you need 1. Think a Gus Edwards type, if he exists.

That is going to be a long wait for the Jags from pick 48 to 96.

A lot of quality players coming off the board in that span. I could see Baalke moving down and picking up extra picks.

I'm glad the Packers have 5 picks in the first 91.

25, 41, 58, 88, 91.

Yeah, this is the favorite one that I’ve seen.

Of course, it will never happen.

That's more of what I want to see as well. Move down two or three at 17 then down another 4 or 5 spots if both moves net a late 2/early 3. Give me a move down with the rams to 19 then to the bucs at 26 if it nets us some combo of 52/57 and 83/89. We'd still get a premier player in the 1st and gain two more shots at starters with the extra picks.

Yeah, some fans are always against moving down, but if Baalke can find a trade partner for 17, he should do the trade down. Not knocking the Jags roster, but there are several holes. Getting the chance at more impact players is always the best thing for the long term success of the team.

If Verse, Mitchell, Bowers, and Fuaga are gone I want to trade down.  I'm not just trading down regardless of who is there but if my guys are gone I'd like to trade down

moving down makes a lot of sense during a rebuild - those extra 3rd day picks fill out the bulk of your roster and give you some developmental depth.

I think where we are is no glaring vacuum at any one position, which affords us the opportunity to wheel and deal both directions - We may trade back to reap the reward of not being desperate, but I also think we're close enough to built that we will move up to spots where guys we covet fit, even if it costs some of the middle round picks to get there. If we come out of this darft with only 5-6 guys, but they are starters or soon to be starters, that's all we really need. If we pick 10 guys, there's a chance 3-4 of them don't even make final cuts.

Kinda think GB is in that same boat. This is a great darft if you need to build lines, not so much if you need to find a pass rush.

I expect a very active couple of days in April for the Jags.

Troy Fautanu keeps falling to me at 17 and I cannot pass on him. Even with Verse and Brian Thomas Jr. on the board. Just couldn't do it. I ran this mock just now and I am a fan of it. I double downed at OL, DT, WR & CB.

17th - Troy Fautanu - OT
48th - Ruke Orhorhoro - DT
96th - Devontez Walker - WR
114th - Mason McCormick - OG
116th - Kalen King - CB
153rd - Gabe Hall - DT
212th - Nehemiah Pritchett - CB
236th - Josh Cephus - WR

Some of these late round pick-up's, like Pritchett and Cephus were guys this team scouted, worked out and met with personally. This class to me embodies what Baalke said during the off season presser. If you want to get bigger, faster and more physical across the board? This is your class to do that.

This one I traded around with the Eagles, so they could land JPJ. Fun.

22nd - Brian Thomas Jr. - WR
48th - T.J Tampa - CB
53rd - Darius Robinson - EDGE
96th - Braden Fiske - DT
116th - Dominick Puni - OG
168th - Javon Foster - OT
190th - Gabe Hall - DT
212th - Cornelius Johnson - WR
236th - Prince Pines - OG

Fautanu is the tackle I want after Fuaga. Not sure I would take him over Verse but Id be very happy with Fautanu

Would love this draft, although not a fan of the 3rd round pick.

I like this mock a lot. The 1st 4 picks would be major contributors as rookies. Robinson is an interesting player; some big boards have him rated in the top 30 while others actually see him as a day 3 pick. Based on his Senior Bowl week, I am more in line with the former. If he somehow fell to pick 48, I'd have a hard time passing on him.

Agreed. DeJean and Pearsall are good picks. That pick at 96 ruins it. A Safety? Why?

Same. Robinson can play inside or outside and he has a specific look to him that just seems like he would be a Baalke pick in RD2 or even a RD1 target if he trades down.

I still am heavy on drafting long term for centre
Hence why I think if they don't go jpj first , the next best should be zach Frazier in the 2nd

I'm high on Robinson as well.  I wonder who we have higher on our board out of Kneeland and Robinson?  Robinson is the bigger body with Kneeland the better athlete and the best bull rush in the draft.  I could see both options at 48 if one is there.

Yeah. I agree. Morse is just a stop-gap at his age. He's entering his 10th NFL season already. We need a guy ready to go in the event something happens. Graham Barton with his ability to play virtually anywhere on the offensive line might be a top candidate that we've been sleeping on.

We know it has to be addressed though. Morse and Scherff are long in the tooth and we're in the market for a LT and swing tackle regardless going into 2025. Not having guys on the roster that are starting in 2024 or at least being developed to start in 2025 is criminal.

Especially considering the cap hits we're fixing to eat with Lawrence's contract extension looming and the WR room having the 4th highest cap hit in the NFL allocated to it.

Probably Kneeland. Robinson is rocked up though and has the versatility I would want in an early draft pick. The fact that they were looking at him (Kneeland) and Ceasar Nelson out of Houston is tipping their hand a little bit already. We'll see. I expect them to land an EDGE rusher in this draft though. Just incase Abdullah doesn't find himself in year two along with Lacy.
