That saved us a lot last year. Hopefully this year it turns into bombs that are completed for TDs.

The irony is that, that picture in the tweet wasn't even called for DPI lol. Lawrence and Ridley should of each had 1 more for like another 40 yards.

There is talk that he is willing to take a Tom Brady -like deal out there. I guess time will tell.

If he extends his contract early, great, but he better throw 30 TDs this season regardless.
Black Jaguar: Yeah, it's a thing.

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude.   Next season I want him gone.

I'd rather we wait and have to give him a bigger bag then pay him now and we find out he's a slightly better Daniel Jones and be on the hook for 50 mil+ a year. Regardless, at least the new tv deals are coming down the road so cap space likely not gonna be a huge problem with or without a massive QB deal.

If he is popping off next season, I would also be in favor of a mid year mega deal.

So rushing for a combined 30 won't count? Or are you just saying throw because he's already hit 30 combined?

30 Tds..minimum...and I don't care how he gets em.  I feel an elite QB needs to account for 30 TDs in this current NFL to be considered elite.

imo

That darn Mahomes isn't elite. He only had 27 TDs last season....

Same with Lamar who had 29, Stafford with 24....

And this is the same issue with last off season and Josh Allen. You waited and now you had to pay up.

The Eagles just signed Devonta Smith to extension before players like Lamb, ARSB, Jefferson and Chase because they're getting in early to save money.

Waiting for Trevor is a very stupid idea and if you really believe he's only slightly better than Daniel Jones....

I wonder in the NFL if owners and players do not make "off the record" Type of deals. LIke you sign this contract, and tons of money and assets come to them in ways not related to football. The old handshake and a wink deal. These billionaires have top notch accountants that could make those things happen quietly.

Extremely doubtful in my opinion.  At the end of the day in the NFL, the owners are competing against the players for their share of the NFL pie via the labor agreement.  If one of the owners made an "off the record" deal, it's very likely coming out during a labor dispute.

Bigger than that, the NFL exists on an antitrust exception under the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961. "Antitrust Implications: Under the Sherman Antitrust Act, the NFL and its teams are vulnerable to antitrust claims if they unreasonably restrain competition or engage in monopolistic practices."  No owner is going to risk the amount of money they get from their ownership, to slip their star player a couple extra million.

I'm not asking Trevor to be Patrick Mahomes, who has thrown for more than 35 TDs in 4 of his six seasons.

I'm asking him to be better than he was in 22/23. 25 TDs should imo, be his low number considering that in his year two he had first time receivers in Kirk, Engram and Jones..yet still got 25 TDs. We need him to improve on that. The Jags should finish better than 9-7 this year, and I think if he scores 30+ TDs, they will. If he scores what he did this past season...they won't.

He would been around that # if some didn't drop so many but he should definitely be around 25-35 next year

He certainly needs to play better but putting a number on it is odd.

What if he throws for 4,800 yards and 29 TDs? Leads the Jags to a 13-4 record. Would that not be elite enough for you?

But as a texans fan do u truly believe Stroud is the guy for you.

If he had a repeat season like last year, would u start the extensions talks ?

Seeing as they aren’t allowed until after his third season, I’d guess no.

Also, what if a rejuvenated short yardage running game has ETN and Tank chip in with 15-20 TDs on the ground?  That’s certainly going to take TD opportunities through the air away from Trevor.  Context matters.  Evaluating with your eyes > Evaluating the stat sheet.

I imagine their charities get a nice contribution from the owner if ya know what I mean. It's nice that the billionaires are so benevolent.

Or Etienne runs for 12? Would be awesome if we didn't have to rely on passing from the 1 to score.
