When his contract is done it will be the top paid qb until the next one is paid that is just how it goes and there is numbers out there it being 200million

People said they don't want him to get a big contract. I want them to give him 500 million so people can be mad about someone else's money.

Guessing he gets a deal around $235M ($47M per year on 5 years) on the low end and $254M ($50.8M per year on 5 years) on the high end.
This would put him above some of the older heads that recently got paid, but, behind some of the more consistent and MVP caliber passers. Cleveland's deal with DeShaun Watson absolutely [BLEEP] up the QB market a lot faster than the NFL had hoped for. I'd think he gets more than Goff per year, so I'm guessing you're a tad low on these. Goff's deal is a 4 yr for $212M or $53M per year. If it winds up being under $53M per year as you suggest, I'll assume it's getting re-done in 2 years.

Do you realize Fair Market Value is equivalent with whatever the market is willing to pay? Also, what the heck do you mean by the lower end of the upper third? Which QBs represent the "third" tier QBs? As info, if we don't pay Trevor, I'm most certain several teams would pay at least $50M/year ($200M guaranteed) to acquire him. Which statistically, is the lower end of the upper third. Let's just call that somewhere around the 11th contract for QBs. That's Jones, Prescott, and Stafford at $160 total. Just ahead of Carr at $150 total. Behind guys like Hurts, Cousins, and Murray who are in the $230s. In other words, Lawrence is getting a top 5 contract the likes of Herbert, Burrow, and Josh Allen. This makes sense, however, contracts increase every year along with the NFL cap, so you must account for that type of increase when comparing contracts that were signed 2-5 years ago.

I'm just showing that "upper third" contracts are going to be $200 million plus from here out, so it's likely that TLaw gets significantly more than that. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
His per year money will probably the highest in the league but I don't think he'll set a record or be close to the top dogs in guaranteed money.

If that number isn't there then why would he sign? He can just wait a year and someone else will pay that plus more to have him on their team. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Injury risk. They're probably looking at the Goff contract and will add a bit more per year and a little bit more guaranteed. And someone else is going to pay him Joe Burrow money? I doubt it.

If he were to hit the market tomorrow he would be the highest paid player in NFL history by Wednesday. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
