Has good prototypical RB size and rushed for a crazy 2400 yards last year, albeit on 391 carries. Thats a lot of work.

All I'll say is, forget the past because at this point its moot. A lot of those names I don't think are goofy sounding for NFL names. But again, the past is moot.

 

I'm making my calls on this on the players that are entering the NFL now. 

 

I know its an out there theory. And again, its about "intangibles" not actual talent. Gurley the RB looks to have loads of talent. Something just always seems to go wrong though in the end, for some of these.

Very productive, almost 2000 yards the season before last and is built with the prototypical RB size that I look for. i.e. maybe a little shorter (under 6') but solidly built 200-220lbs - while still showing capable speed/ quickness.

I agree Khalil Mack is practically a perfect sounding football star name. 

 

I think my biggest issue with him is the recent hype which I think exceeds the talent just a bit. I just want us drafting him at proper value if we do take him....i.e. trade down, recoup some picks, then take him, perhaps at 6 or later. I do not want him at 3.

With the departure of Mojo, and no proven impact RB on the team, Evaluating our next franchise RB has to be a top priority after QB. I know some of yall are going to say "well we got Gerhart". Sorry but he is no impact player..He lacks speed and quickness.. Anyways im hoping we draft a rb somewhere between rnds 3-5.I would love to see Gurley here..

IMO, "gut instincts" are derived from subconsciously evaluating players/ information/ watching lots of football, obtained over a long period of time. I think in a way, thats part of whats going on here, maybe as over time I am sure I've seen thousands of examples of players/ names that have gone on to various amounts of success/ as well as bad luck....or maybe I'm just in need of another bender drinkfest, like you said yesterday....lol
