Its time to start planning a replacement franchise RB!

Quote:hahahaha, prob not. Thats because if the player was good, then You say the name wasn't weird. But Dick Butkus is a weird name. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:I'll bet TMD wouldn't have wanted Harry Colon either. They got medicine for that?
Looking to troll? Don't bother, we supply our own.
Quote:U would of never wanted a guy with the name Rice Disagree. Anyway, Have any of you seen RB Terrence West from Towson? He might be there in the 4th round maybe? Has good prototypical RB size and rushed for a crazy 2400 yards last year, albeit on 391 carries. Thats a lot of work.
Dri Archer was someone I was considering listing here, but after further review, he's a bit too small. 175 lbs.
Like I said if he knows what the player has accomplished. He isn't going to say the name is weird or funny:
Dick Butkus Junious Buchanan George Blanda Dave Casper Curley Culp Tom Fears Ray Guy Jack Ham Chris Hanburger Lamar Hunt Bob Lilly Floyd Little Larry Little Warren Moon Ken Strong Lynn Swann Charley Trippi Willie Wood Jack Youngblood We show less advertisements to registered users. Quote:Like I said if he knows what the player has accomplished. He isn't going to say the name is weird or funny: All I'll say is, forget the past because at this point its moot. A lot of those names I don't think are goofy sounding for NFL names. But again, the past is moot. I'm making my calls on this on the players that are entering the NFL now. I know its an out there theory. And again, its about "intangibles" not actual talent. Gurley the RB looks to have loads of talent. Something just always seems to go wrong though in the end, for some of these. Quote: ![]()

Another decent mid round guy could be Ka'deem Carey from Arizona.
Very productive, almost 2000 yards the season before last and is built with the prototypical RB size that I look for. i.e. maybe a little shorter (under 6') but solidly built 200-220lbs - while still showing capable speed/ quickness. Quote:Thats because if the player was good, then You say the name wasn't weird. Khalil Mack is uber cool. Yet he's already "predicting" bust. #TMDcircus

What are YOUR rules then for goofy sounding names? This way I can bust up your ridiculous theory using your own reasoning. Because at this point you just saying player X is going to be bad based on a name and when a "goofy" name is shown you pretty much say that isn't goofy. So far all I gather by your reasoning is that Luck could be considered a goofy name depending on how he played in Indy?
Quote:Khalil Mack is uber cool. Yet he's already "predicting" bust. I agree Khalil Mack is practically a perfect sounding football star name. I think my biggest issue with him is the recent hype which I think exceeds the talent just a bit. I just want us drafting him at proper value if we do take him....i.e. trade down, recoup some picks, then take him, perhaps at 6 or later. I do not want him at 3.

Quote:What are YOUR rules then for goofy sounding names? This way I can bust up your ridiculous theory using your own reasoning. Its more something I just seem to know when I hear/ see it. You're asking for me to outline something that is more of a gut instinct. Again, I am not disputing the talent at all for players like Gurley the RB, or Clowney. Its just something I want to keep an eye on as their careers evolve. Quote:Is this real life? TMD's imaginationland

Quote:Disagree. Quote:Dri Archer was someone I was considering listing here, but after further review, he's a bit too small. 175 lbs. Quote:Another decent mid round guy could be Ka'deem Carey from Arizona. I'd like some feedback on these 3 above if anyone has seen them extensively? Quote:With the departure of Mojo, and no proven impact RB on the team, Evaluating our next franchise RB has to be a top priority after QB. I know some of yall are going to say "well we got Gerhart". Sorry but he is no impact player..He lacks speed and quickness.. Anyways im hoping we draft a rb somewhere between rnds 3-5.I would love to see Gurley here..I see you haven't seen Gerhart play. Cool. Quote:TMD's imaginationland haha, well, I can't blame anyone for their reactions. It is "out there", I know. But I still feel there might be something to it. Maybe it will prove faulty (to me) and then I can scrap it. But let me ask you this?.... You and others have had "gut instincts" with players before, no? IMO, "gut instincts" are derived from subconsciously evaluating players/ information/ watching lots of football, obtained over a long period of time. I think in a way, thats part of whats going on here, maybe as over time I am sure I've seen thousands of examples of players/ names that have gone on to various amounts of success/ as well as bad luck....or maybe I'm just in need of another bender drinkfest, like you said yesterday....lol
Quote:Its more something I just seem to know when I hear/ see it. So basically what you are saying is that it isn't a "theory".....what you are referring to is known as CONJECTURE. Conjecture - an opinion or idea formed without proof or sufficient evidence Thank you for clarifying :thanks:
Quote:I see you haven't seen Gerhart play. Cool. Yeah, agreed, with the above sentiment. Gerhart is plenty quick for his size. |
