It will be easy, after a few weeks of teams rattling off 30-plus yard returns (or more, as we showed), teams will just boot it out of the EZ and start the D at the 30. Kickoffs will be boring again, and the league will continue to attempt to tweak the game to force teams not to play risk-averse.

They can do that by making the ball go to the 35 on kicks in the end zone, instead of the 30.   And if that doesn't work, they can move it to the 40.

Then they could've just made touchbacks come out to the 10 yard line to force returns out of the End Zone. Then kickers just boot it out the back and the League responds by making that a procedure penalty like a kick out of bounds. The issue is they don't want the collisions, it's not about the game play, it's about injury liability and their public reputation.

I mean, they didn't have full confidence in Washington yet, Duvernay was a very affordable all pro compared to Agnew and, the late pick RB was addressed by the GM, the HC and the ST coordinator as a way to make sure they can always have two healthy and capable returners back there on the new kickoff format when they want it. 

That all makes perfect sense to me even I wanted different players/positions more than those guys.

To me, based on my experience, and what I have seen in the games, PFF grades are meaningless.

I understand what you are saying and do have issues with them from time to time. I believe they are at best during the season a general indicator, but absolutely not a definitive grade. The teams do their own grading which will be a lot more accurate. In preseason they are even more misleading as I don't believe they take into account the level of opponent.

And, they cannot take into account the actual assignment the player had.  Only the coaches know that.

That's really not the case. Watching film a knowledgeable person can tell the assignments by the play call, the idea that you can't tell when the left tackle got beat by the defensive end is silly. Or when the end stunts and beats the guard who didn't get back in the hole, you can see these things, it's not rocket surgery.

Maybe good to mix it up a bit. Probably also better between himself and Lawrence. Instead of [BLEEP] around with a red phone to talk about plays, misses or a different feel for the game?

Easier just to be readily available and ready to go with Lawrence in between every timeout, commercial timeout, sideline breaks while the defense is out there, etc.
