The nominee and leader in the polls at the time didn't have a full presidential SS detail.  It was a significant part of the problem.  There are other components like incompetency and lack of communication/coordination with local law enforcement which also falls under incompetency, but he should have already been granted a full presidential detail of SS agents.

I'll add that it shouldn't be up to the current administration on whether that is granted to the opposition or not.  It should be standard policy once the nominee has been clearly identified.  But yes, it does seem very likely that thought you mention had crossed several decision makers minds.

Yes. It doesn't consume me or anything, but, since it happened, it does creep up on my mind from time to time while I am working. It amazed me how quickly we moved on from it. Brushed it off. It literally felt like another day at the office when we went back to work that following Monday. Didn't hear a peep about it openly at least. 

We were an earshot away from possible chaos and a Nation divided at it's highest level in well over a century. We were an earshot away from possibly blaming this on Iran and waltzing into WWIII had he actually had his head popped on national television in real time. Truly insane. 

I think it's just the beginning personally. Told my family last year that it's been feeling like a powder keg waiting to go off now since we returned back to "normal" post Covid lockdown's. I don't know. I always fall back on things being cyclical. Which applies to politics, movements and the economy. 

But, it feels like we're fixing to take this big step towards something new and different. And, I personally fear it doesn't involve having too many of us mouth breathers around to see it or to make it work.

Deep State had their hands in this. Just like they did with JFK's assassination. It was staged. 100% staged. For the shooter to get up there and take that shot.

It baffles the hell out of me, where, we live in a country that has cut it's teeth for decades now in foreign affairs, global economic interests, typically by way of war, and dotting the globe more than anybody else with military might like an Empire, just for, you know, reasons and the "greater good."

Our country is corrupt. Just like a majority of the other countries out there that we [BLEEP] on. We spend more money in Military Advancement than anybody else and we also seem to lose a [BLEEP] ton of money than anybody else.

Bottomline is this, we have a Plutocracy running the table here. Rigging wars, rigging laws, rigging elections, they always have, and, anybody that stands in the way of their advancements and efforts to expand or deepen their pockets?

They literally take aim at them. They're barely trying to hide it now. Had they taken him out? A number of things could have happened. Maybe a mini civil war, with MAGA gun nuts going berserk and bonkers on D.C grounds and anybody in their way.

Or, the most logical one. They pin it on Iran, ask us to unify and rally behind the biggest puppet on demand, via the Democratic party more than likely, and, we begin tilting into WWIII. We were an earshot away from this happening.

They failed because they picked the wrong, inexperienced shooter to take it during a high pressure moment. They were too chicken [BLEEP] to have more than one shooter this time, because, you would have too many Zapruder's in today's age.

Everybody knows Oswald was not the lone gunman with JFK's assassination by now.

No other so called civilized country allows loons to get AR's to the extent that we do in America. In Florida as is the case in some other states, you cannot even stop somebody from carrying AR if they claim that they are engaged in or traveling to / from fishing, camping, hunting, or test / target shooting.  At least they caught this particular loon alive and can try to understand what motivated him.
