People need a scapegoat for their own ignorance, always have.

It is a waste of time talking about play selection. Well, until you have at least an average offensive line. Maybe then, just maybe.

In 2022, Pederson called the plays in the first half, when we often fell behind, and Taylor called the plays in the second half, when we often came back to win.  For example,

Pederson calling plays in the first half- San Diego 27, Jags 7
Taylor calling plays in the second half- Jags 24, San Diego 3
Final score, both halves: Jags 31, Chargers 30.

That's just an example, but based on that season when they both called plays, maybe we should demand that Taylor call all the plays from now on.

On the Bourbon topic:

+1 for most excellent clarification.

I haven't seen a liter at that price in years. Where did you buy it?

Some liquor store in SC while visiting my daughter in Feb. Picked up a bottle of Yellow Stone as well. Haven’t cracked either of them open yet but today is the day.

If it doesn't make a difference then he should just say who the play caller is like the 31 other teams.

Some clueless kid on a message board calling the owner, former players, fans, and a lot of the Jags media ignorant on wanting Doug to call plays is comical lol.

Why not? Are we just smarter than the 31 other teams?

Why does it matter? I'm just trying to figure out why your panties are so bunched up over what they do or don't tell you. Is it going to make a difference in how the plays are executed? Is TLaw back there thinking "I gotta complete this pass or fljagsdude is gonna be upset that Doug called the wrong play!"? What does it matter that we've heard ya'll crying about it for literally months now when it doesn't make a dime's worth of difference?

Split backs. So, it's Etienne and Bigsby in the backfield. And, also, yes, in this scenario, it's an option. If Engram is used in motion and it looks like man coverage? I am pitching it to Bigsby. If it's zone? Looking to take a deep shot with Davis getting isolated with maybe a single high safety.

The defense will be looking for Etienne to get it first there in my opinion, especially with Lawrence under center. I am also trusting the RB we selected in the top, what? 100? To be MUCH better in year two. His overall running style and convictions looked much improved during the preseason.

I am also setting up the 2nd play to be an intended swing pass to Etienne in the same exact formation. It's chess, not checkers!
