***Gameday Jaguars @ Dolphins***

My favorite thing about the game was no injured Jaguars and no big hits on Lawrence.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

I'm not really upset with the loss, i'm upset with the WAY we lost. Self inflicted wounds, and a downward spiral/snowball once one thing goes wrong and every phase of the game capitulated like dominoes falling. First the offense fumbling, than the Defense letting up an 80 yard TD, then the ST's fumbling; and the cherry on top was the Coaching staff even attempting to go for it on that failed 4th and 1 on our own 30 yard line when there's a full quarter left to play and we're up by 3 on the scoreboard!
I understand that they're a "young team" and they "need to learn how to win". It's just alarming that they don't seem to learn from these adverse situations under this coaching staff the last 3 seasons. They just continue to invent new ways to lose games in ridiculous fashion. I think we need to see some accountability as far as the Offensive Coaching staff goes. We can't have an offensive line coach leading a unit with multiple 1st & 2nd round picks & high priced free agents continue to rank 28th/32 at best and has been 2nd worst in the league TWICE in 3 years. We can't have an offensive coordinator in Press Taylor that seemingly can't adapt or call a good game. Far too many errors from our players and an overall failure to execute across all position groups. Part of why i'm in favor of churning the bubble players and bottom or the roster is that it prevents guys from getting too comfortable. It really feels like there's no accountability or consequence for some of these mind boggling errors. Forget why we're going for it on that 4th and 1 disaster..... why was Etienne in there after the fumble?!? Why wasn't the power back who has been feasting all game put in for the exact situation you drafted him for?!?! The coaching on the offensive side of the ball is a problem. Wish they had cleaned house on that side instead of just on Defense.
Championship Formula:
1) Draft Trevor Lawrence! 2) Play good physical Defense! 3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy! 4) ??? 5) Blank #2 6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Yet we should have won. Jags fumbled this away. Pun or no pun (09-08-2024, 09:54 PM)homebiscuit Wrote:(09-08-2024, 09:09 PM)Eric1 Wrote: Campbell injured his hamstring.. I just can't believe we stopped throwing it entirely. This loss is on Etienne and Kirk frankly. Two BAD drops on 3rd and a fumble.
Meanwhile the Texans get the cupcakiest opening to the season ever with Indy and Chicago. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

We looked like we showed up and had a good plan, played hard and well in areas of concern. We did not finish, and shot ourselves in the foot too many times which is habits of old Jaguars teams gone to the toilet. We gotta clean it up for four quarters. We lost in the trenches in the second half, the running game was getting traction for Miami. We had opportunities to win which is nice in itself, but it hurts to not capitalize down the stretch. It's just one game, the first game, long season. Every team is going to have a game that leaves a bad taste in their mouth sooner or later. We should be on our P's and Q's for four quarters next week in the home opener.
Still disappointed this morning. I said this last year after the early losses to Kansas City and the tinhorns at home.
Losing games like this to play off teams this early will come back to haunt you down the stretch in December. When you're in control of the game? You have to capitalize on that. This was a game of momentum and they lost it after one fumble. Watching this team lose the way they did yesterday was like watching this: https://youtu.be/y688upqmRXo?si=cY1z9TXBQUwF9CMg Now, we have to go weeks and hope we get the damn horse back at the end of the movie to ride us into the play off's. That face mask flag where the players hand got stick in thr mask was quite funny
Someone on 1010 summed it up perfectly: Yesterday encapsulated the entire 2023 season in one game.
