He was a healthy scratch against the browns. Why are we not playing our 2nd round pick?
Rumors are a potential conflict between doug and trent. No idea if that rumor has any merit. It is strange to me however to have him not active when healthy. Is this concerning? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

He's a raw rookie who got scratched for two vets.

He didn't just get scratched for 2 vets because he's a raw rookie. A few people already said on here some of the reporters or 1010 said it was conduct or a behavior issue why we sat him last week. We shall see this week. If he sits again this week then it's what you say if he plays it was true what they said on 1010XL
Either way. Questionable selection and now questionable coaching. Both departments earning an L here.

Goes back to them taking a TE in RD2 and a RB in RD3 last year. Feels like luxury selections on a team that clearly still has needs and weaknesses. Ok, so it's questionable that Neilsen or Pederson thought that Smith wasn't playing better than the 4 guys ahead of him on the chart? “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

It's not really a questionable decision if it was a behavior issue or conduct detrimental to the team like what was reported. His play on the field is irrelevant. Not a good look for him though

Do you have a link for that report? I haven't seen anything about it being behavioral except some poster making a supposition on the message board. Pederson flat out said that Smith was outplayed by the guys who were active, anything about behavior or that post about it being a pissing contest with Baalke is just twitter swill IMO. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

It's odd that he was benched after drawing 2 holding calls that benefited the team just a week earlier on the road. Both parties are just odd in this situation for me. Kind of feels like an absentee mother and father just punishing their oldest child for no real good reason really other than hating each other that week and taking it out on the kid. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk (09-22-2024, 04:16 PM)flgatorsandjags Wrote:That's the thing though man. It was for behavior or conduct detrimental to the team. This is not backed by anything. 2. It was due to Baalke and Pederson being petty and in a power struggle. This is not backed by anything. 3. It was due to better play during practice by veteran players. This was confirmed by the coaches themselves. Everything is speculative. However, without reading the tea leaves and taking it at face value? I think the scouting department and coaching staff BOTH suck for not getting more out of their 48th overall investment from five months ago. THAT's my concern. Not trying to get into a rabbit hole or conspiracy here. I just see it as a broad failure from all hands involved. I'dve rather had Cooper Beebe who looks really good in Dallas.
You should not even be thinking that a Baalke draft pick is "questionable", we know he's a terrible drafter. Your thoughts in the last sentence are colored by that nonsense on twitter about Pederson doing it to spite Baalke. The rookie got scratched in favor of two vets. It happens, especially to raw rookies. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

If they turn the season around, some of these concerns move to the back burner. AND it’s hard to evaluate this offense with such substandard O line play. BUT I’m starting to believe that we’re saddled with an out of date offensive playbook and unimaginative play caller, whether that’s Doug or Press or a mindmeld of them both. AND the O line coach can’t elevate his players. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ![]() Fix the O-Line!
