***tinhorns week thread***

Hey, if it had been foretold that the Jags would wind up 0-4 to start the season but you could negotiate with the devil to change the outcome to 1-3 by instead getting a win against the tinhorns in week 4 in exchange for instead of a close loss to the Bills getting embarrassed by them on monday night in week 3, would you take that deal? Because if we win this weekend, I'm pretty sure that's what someone must've done to make it happen.

We’re not winning.

Injury list today was a downer

Yeah only way we win is if Pederson takes playcalling back and Trevor plays like late 2022.

Well, ok but if you look at the PFF scores and compare 2022 to these first 4 games you will find we are currently ranked 27th in the league with a pass block score of  55. In 2022 for the season we were tied for 10th with a score of 72.  Oddly run blocking isn't much worse, although it wasn't good even then.

So if we can pass block this week we will win, otherwise don't hold your breath.

Tall order rhe way the Jags have looked recently.

But, if they can find a way to win this week, right back in this thing.

They'll be only 1 game back of tinhorns (possibly the clots as well if they happen to win this week) while holding a division head to head victory on Hou.

They get the clots next week.

Then off to London for a couple weeks where thet seem to fair well (especially getting to stay over there an extra week for the 2nd game seems to be an advantage). Getting the Bears and Pats over there is somewhat fortunate as well.

Gotta try to find a way this week. Gonna be tough, but if they pull it off then right back in it.

I am tempted to put $500 down on the Jaguars this Sunday. I would go a step further.

I'd take the Jaguars at +6.5, with the total points over 45 and the Jaguars to win. A $500 bet on that right now could win you $3,000 if all of that hit.

Hell, you could just drop the +6.5, and the over of 45, just take the Jaguars to win straight up. That's still a $1,700 payout.

I am NOT going to do it. LOL. I want to, I really do. I can't, because I have a cruise coming up next month and I need the cash around for some things. However, deep down, I know, at some point, this team is going to dig it's head out it's [BLEEP] and start firing on all cylinders. It's bound to happen any week now.

And, it's possible it starts against the tinhorns in Houston. I don't believe in the tinhorns at the moment. I think they have some issues to resolve still. I think they're vulnerable. They let the clots hang around in week one, they didn't really put the Bears away in week two, and, they got absolutely buried by the Vikings on Sunday (Just like we did against the Bills on Monday).

This division is still very much wide open in my opinion. It's still very much early. Doug said it best, and, I know the meaning of it was meant based on the beatdown that they had on Monday, but, I see the duality in the statement. "Everything is on the table".

I agree with that statement. Everything IS on the table. So [BLEEP] reach out and take it!

The 2 AFC South favs (Texans and Jags) got beat last weekend by a combined score of 81-17

Didn't go through the 5 pages of posts so I'm not sure if this was posted yet .... definitely worth noting if not.

Man we sure like to plug in to narratives. I don't give a flip who is calling the plays, ain't working and ain't executing.

Two of the three QBs our defense has faced have been mobile guys.
This limits the pass rush which in turn affects the secondary adversely.

Stroud may be adept at evading pressure by moving around and rolling, but he's not so mobile that Nielsen should have to gameplan contain over pressure.

Maybe, just maybe, that aids our very banged up secondary by getting the QB off schedule more often.

Personally - I don't see this defense keeping points off the board while starting 3 backups among their back seven.

Their best shot for now is keeping Armstead & Hamilton on the field more often and hoping the front 4 can be more disruptive against the less mobile QBs on the schedule.

Offensively they clearly need a complete 180 degree turn in production. No point pinpointing who needs to step up since it's basically everyone.

Their best shot is scoring more points on offense and putting the tinhorns in a hole early to where they have to throw themselves out of it. That's exactly what the Vikings did last week.

The correct response after getting your [BLEEP] handed to you at a franchise low, is to come out, and 86 that [BLEEP] energy onto your divisional rival. That's what they need to do.

I just want to remind everyone here that when our DC was fired after last season, he said the main problem was still in the building.

Just a reminder. He was almost prophetic in his statement.

It'll make the blowout loss as their fullback continually outruns our whole defense all the more humiliating.

Everytime we defer at kickoff and the opponent goes down and scores and gets the crown into it. We need to receive and go down and score and get the crowd out of it

The key will be blocking the edge guys. That's is their strength and our weakness. I'd feel much better if Cam doesn't play. We need to give Walkwr Little one last chance at LT imo to see if he can be the future

Absolutely, but most are resigned to the fact that Trent Baalke isn't going anywhere. He's the cockroach of executives. I know your raging hate boner for PT has now focused on Pederson, but it is what it is. So long as Baalke is at the helm the lines are going to be the problem and the QB and skill positions will continue to suffer for it.

I think it would be great if Little got a first legitimate chance at LT.

To be fair, theirs is looking pretty grim as well. They're very banged up on offense. Down to their 3rd RB and possibly out their top 2 WRs
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
