If Houston doesn't take Bortles, how far does he fall?

Quote:How old are you? Most exciting player?Come'on atburg, do I have to list out every draft credential on Manziel in a thread whose OP is not even about him at all? I was making deliberately brief statements about Clowney, Manziel, and Bridgewater that i think defined them each well. BTW, Your coach Gus Bradley made three similarly brief statements on the top QBs after the combine a few weeks ago. Guess what he said about Johnny? Gus on Bortles: "We’ve watched enough that we’re very intrigued by him." Gus on Bridgewater: "He’s got really good poise and very good decision making and very accurate – that’s what jumps out." Gus on Manziel: "He’s very talented. How can you argue with what he’s done and the plays he makes? An exciting player." Now either your own coach is, as you say, "<span style="background-color:rgb(247,247,247);">pushing someone up Jaguars draft board for entertainment value", or you are simply way-overreacting brother. Listen, it's no big deal atburg, It was a short description of 3-players in a thread that doesn't actually have anything to do with those 3 specific players. I kept it short on purpose. Yes, Manziel plays an extremely exciting style of football, but he can also throw the ball better than Bottles, can scramble better than Bottles, sees the field better than Bottles, has done better against harder competition than Bottles, had more passing yards than Bottles, a higher pass-percentage than Bottles, a higher collegiate QBR than Bottles, etc, etc, etc...y'know what I mean atburg, don't overanalyze everything man. </span>
I want 3 players. Clowney, Bridgewater, Manziel. Jaguars have the number 3 pick. Just give me one of those 3 at 3, and I'm happy.

Quote:I have a feeling Cleveland, Tampa, or Minnesota would take a stab at him; so not far. Agree. I am not a huge Bortles fan but I don't him getting past Minnesota. If the top 3 went like this 1. HOU - Clowney 2. STL - Robinson 3. JAX - Watkins I could see Cleveland taking him or Manziel at 4. |
