And 0-4 start and look at the threads around this board. I mean it isn't like we have been here before... this highly successful team has a track record of amazing front offices, coaches, and talent.
Nah... we are snake bit as heck with more misery than excitement.
Birth of the Franchise - November 30, 1993
Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011 Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.
I want Doug gone just like everyone, but who would even be the logical interim HC? Farwell the special teams coord?
Firing anyone but a lowly position coach isn't going to accomplish anything other than satiating the jilted overly emotional fan's bloodlust. If Doug needs firing, you wait until late november or early december when the season is officially over for us and you can now get a jump on hiring the next guy. Trevor isn't going anywhere. Regardless of whether you like Doug or not or approve of he and Press's play calling or not, Trevor doesn't need the additional chaos and turmoil of an interim head coach added into the mix. Just let it play out and disconnect and disassociate for the remainder of the season if you have to.

Maybe players haven't bought into the scheme yet, but something is WAY off with the defense. JHA and Walker look horrible. Feels like he just needs to focus on getting the defense right, a promotion seems like a horrible idea. McCoy, sure I get it, he's coached before. Been around coaching a long time. I guess he is the "best choice". Change it up, special teams coordinators sometimes turn out to be good HC's, and special teams isn't in shambles. Give that guy a shot. Even the great Bill Belichick started out in special teams. Maybe that's where our diamond in the rough is.
And here we are, one week later, and my original post to start this thread stands.

This is why I wish they were building the stadium on a new site instead of renovating. It's like rebuilding the house in Poltergeist on the same site. Why can so few see that this franchise is cursed? How much more evidence is necessary? The grounds of the stadium need a full spiritual clense and blown to smithereens.
Bosseli bashed Doug for calling out the players in the public saying it was on the players and not on the coaching. He said TC would get on the players [BLEEP] behind closed doors and it was rough but he never threw the players under the bus in the public.

Neilson cannot be interim HC he has a phenomenal first quarter against dolphins and the D has been absolutely trash since.
Honestly at this point I think if they did a raffle for fans to buy it it wouldn’t be any worse.

The players sucked [BLEEP] yesterday. The only nitpicking I can find on the coaching staff is Doug's lack of use overall with timeouts. My biggest complaint, would be, after Bigsby's long run.
He was clearly winded and gassed, he couldn't finish the previous play off. It was 1st and goal. Your team has struggled for nine weeks in a row now with redzone offense. Call a timeout there. Rally your QB, rally your line, rally your OC and just tell them "Alright, I got 30 seconds to a minute here with this timeout, what are our best three plays we're looking at for 1st, 2nd and 3rd down?". The idea to just run the [BLEEP] ball two times in a row with a gassed RB there, and then, to go gun and obvious QB draw on the 3rd and goal? Yuck. Again, call the timeout, take a breather, get your house in order when you know this offense is struggling. Maybe you go: 1st and Goal: QB draw. 2nd and Goal: Fake Jet Sweep to Duvernay, bootleg Lawrence to the right with maybe Strange or Kirk working from left to right inside the endzone. 3rd and Goal: Heavy package, twin TE set, give Lawrence options there to use PA or check into the run if the alignment is right. It's just dumb [BLEEP] like that with the coaching staff that irks me. However, yesterday was 1,000,000% on Mr. $275M. I don't care about this call, that call, the odds, etc. MAKE THOSE DAMN THROWS! IT'S AS WIDE OPEN AS IT GET'S IN THE NFL! YOU'RE THE GUY! THE GUY MAKES THOSE PLAYS! I can see why Doug gets pissy with the press. The coaching staff is not without it's faults, but, over these last four weeks? With the exception of the MNF game? I call bull [BLEEP]. These players have let the coaching staff down more than the other way around. There, I [BLEEP] said it. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Jet Sweep's inside the 10 yard line to him, even if it's a fake or by design would be nice to see the offense do more of with him. I think he's under utilized and that's on the staff. If you're going to use Washington and Robinson, the rookie out of Texas more on ST's now? They need to find ways to get one of the fastest players more involved in this offense. Maybe Lawrence's sailed passes stand a better chance with somebody a little bit lighter in the [BLEEP] out there running deep for them. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? Here's my 2 cents coming from Chiefs fan:
If Pederson isn't calling the plays, then what's he doing? The gameplans have been trash just about every week. Pederson is at the podium blaming the players. You have Baalke saying the players are in place. You got Trevor clearly regressing. You have 2 supposed elite pass rushers who can't get home, a newly signed DT who can't create pressure up the middle, a defense that has yet to force a turnover and a secondary that can't cover. WRs that are still dropping passes and a QB that sails passes sometimes. An OL that plays well sometimes but also becomes crappy at the worst possible times (Scherff missing his block on the 4th and 1 at the goal line). Tank Bigsby had a fantastic run but couldn't finish that fantastic run and every single person on this board knew that as soon as he didn't score, something bad was going to happen. If everything looks this dysfunctional, there's legit 2 people to blame here: Pederson and Baalke. "Oh you can't fire them now".... Why? Why can't you? They are 0-4. Pederson looks so disinterested and Baalke has ALWAYS been a snake. First, I'm firing Baalke. There's a clear rift between him and Pederson. If things don't get better over the next 3 games (which should all be wins), then fire Pedeson and Taylor after London and promote McCoy (literally don't care). It's a mess in Jacksonville and they're not going to move on from Trevor (and they shouldn't) so it's time to get the old junk out and bring in the new. In Staffords 4th year in the league, the Lions went 4-12. Stafford had 20 TDs and 17 interceptions with below 60% completion. It's so cute that you decided to add this to your other nonsense post to somehow excuse Trevor pathetic performance this year. The guy almost still threw for 5000 yards that year as well. And also in his third year he had one of his best seasons in QB history but yes go on and try to compare Lawrence mid career to Stafford all you want but Stafford is ten steps ahead the better QB as Trevor will ever be.... I agree to a point that they did call a smart game, much more quick plays and opportunities to move. We didn't have a lot of unforced errors in penalties or turnovers. Trevor missed some throws, that (hopefully) can be fixed. The D proved porous, that (hopefully) can be fixed as players return from injury. The playcalls at the end of the game were situationally inappropriate, and put the entire team in a difficult position to seal the victory. Again, hopefully that can be fixed. While coach didn't name names, unwritten rule is to always take the blame publicly and put the criticism on others in private. I gotta wonder how long before he finally snaps. If Pederson and Baalke are at odds now? That's on ownership. If you go back and look at the 2022 off season and coach hiring circle this team did. It started with Doug. It ended with Doug. The belief was that everybody else in between that first and last interview with Doug were simply not interested in working with Baalke. Something Khan insisted. This is the root cause of this team's problems and Khan needs to take ownership for it and figure out what's best for the team in about two, three months. Let the funk remain. Let the disdain stain the facility some more. Get the best and worst out of these guys because it's doing the rest of the NFL and this roster some major favors so we don't have to see their names again being highly profiled or coveted for other vacancies. He needs to blow it up for good this time and let it all air out. He needs to hire a VP of football operations and let THEM decide who the GM and next coaching staff should be. His record as an owner speaks for itself. He cannot do what's best for this football team product wise. He just can't. Everything else? He's fantastic. The stadium? Great. Recommitting to the city of Jacksonville several times? Great. The fan experience (outside of actual contests)? Great. His willingness to spend and invest in the city and team? Great. He just doesn't have the chops to pick out the correct people to run his football team. He must see this. He must accept this. He must move on from this aspect of his ownership. It's setting himself, this team, this city and his namesake back. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I, who was born in a naked land and bred in the open sky.
