They have to get the call in and get to the line faster.  They should be practicing that in every practice

You're reading that chart wrong.

The -10% number is referring to motion at the snap.
Not pre snap.

The Jags use motion on 48.9% of their offensive plays. It's still a bit low compared to the teams that do it well and do it often, but you need to study that chart again.

"Pre-snap" is not the same thing as "at-snap."

Here's a good chart illustrating how the Jags might benefit by utilizing more motion, but we are all seeing how sloppy they are executing, so...

More motion means more stuff to screw up. It would be a risk until they clean up the execution IMO. But I fully support using it 20% more often than they do which would put them in line with some of the better offenses.

Let's just say, hypothetical, Lawrence goes elsewhere, and balls.. That still means he was a bust on the Jaguars. Same with Darnold and the Jets, same with Geno and the Jets. Some orgs just run talent into the ground. We are 100% one of those organizations.

Bad organizations ruin QB's more than bad QB's ruin organizations. We don't know how to maintain success. We know how to occasionally capture it like lightning in a bottle and then we let it shatter shortly after.

I agree with you. We're 1,000% one of those organizations. Not sure what the fix is or what it will take, but, it has to start with Khan doing what's right for himself and what's right for his franchise.

He really does need to step away from the hiring process and find himself a team to do that for him. I am at least convinced by that. His record as an owner can attest to this.

Facts, look at the game winning TD. How about Quincy Williams? There are quite a few former Jaguars that are either starters or key contributors this team let walk. From talent evaluation(GM making roster moves) to development(coaches) to the players not executing even when the opportunity is there.... It's just something about this team that can't even sustain [BLEEP] and it's really annoying. Trevor was supposed to be can't miss, leave it to the Jags to somehow miss.

It would be nice to have a HC that would emphasize execution instead of just giving it lip service in order to take the heat off his inept staff and his own failures.

Tony Khan finds these stupid analyitics in his father's office.  Tony then feels a strange tingling and steals these analytics and runs into the master suite of his father's 3rd biggest yacht.

Tony then get's under the sheets and turns on his flashlight to pour over these analytics.  As he looks them over, he reaches for the lotion.

<<<<<<RIIIIINNNG>>>>>>

Oh not!  It's Shad.

"Tony, where are those analytics in my office???"

"What are you talking about dad?"  Tony stutters as he pulls up his pants.

"Son, those analystics are bull [BLEEP].  Stop it.  You need help", Shad says patiently.  "I'm going to come and get those analytics and burn them, you need to then get some help."

Tony, with tears in his eyes and rage in his voice can not hold back his frustration any longer - "You don't understand!!!  We need eachother, Dad!!!".

Silence comes over the line, Tony can hear footsteps coming from the deck of the yacht...  His greasy hand still holding his I-Phone 99 (a phone working class folks won't get until 2091) finally registers the breathing, heart-rate, mood levels of his father.  But all Tony hears is the soft silence of the buzz of a normal phone.  And footsteps.

Shad knocks slowly before entering the room.

"Tony, give me the analytics"

Tears well in both their eyes.

The son hangs his head down.  He turns off his phone.  He hands over the analytics.

"Dad, I'm...."

"It's OK.  Just learn from this".

Somewhere in Duval County a kid looks at his dad.  That dad looks at his kid.  There's a moment between both of them where they feel the calmness of what billionaires do and what we all do.  And it was clean.

What does that look like and how do you know that's not a point of emphasis already?

....or are you suggesting Doug employ capital punishment for guys who fail to meet expectations?

It's not even execution. It's being aware. A RB belts out a 50-yard gain, you either give him a breather or run a play to someone else. You got a lead and several defensive stops with 4 minutes on the clock, you grind that bleeping clock into the dirt. We can't put the onus on execution until we start giving the players guidance that breeds success. Right now, we are expert marksmen, but for some reason drew the bullseye on our own boots. That has to change. Full damn stop.

Maybe. Or...you give the guy the ball again and he crushes it in the last yard and half and everyone celebrates. Because we've seen that happen too.

"I still believe in them," Khan told the newspaper Saturday. "I believe in the players, I believe in the coaching staff. I believe in Trent. Obviously, the results are disappointing for all of them, just as well as me or any other Jaguar fan, but the key thing one has to understand [is] we have evolved and really got to a level. They won’t go 0-2 in London but that 4 game stretch after? Woo buddy.

Very easily could be 2-9 or 3-8.

Maybe he's confident based on the last two games that they'll come back from London 3 - 4.

I know I am. I fully expect this team to come back across the pond 3 - 4. It'll make that real home game on the 27th against Green Bay a ton of fun. Imagine going 0 - 4 and turning back around and breaking even at 4 - 4 by the end of this month.

We're right there. I know it's one game at a time. But, it really feels like this team is going to get it turned around and trending in the right direction finally. Once this defense gets Campbell and Oluokon back we'll be cooking with gas as well. Cannot say that enough. We really need those two guys back out there ASAP.

Literally half of our struggles in coverage will go away with them back in the line-up.
