Nobody (at least me) is giving the D a pass. They gave it up at the very end. But it's asinine to think that directly gifting the Packers PHENOMENAL field position and 14 straight points in 1 minute and 15 seconds is completely okay. That's not on the defense, lets be real. Trev got paid the big bucks, so criticism will duly be placed on him when it is absolutely deserved. They are supposed to stop teams scoring and we let it go when they make a mistake. He could have dropped down and lived to see another down. He gets caught trying to do too much sometimes on the sack fumbles

The O started really bad but they dragged us back into this twice. We just needed the D to do it's job on that last drive. Make them earn it but we leave one of their best WR's open by 10 yards. Even Willis can make that throw and that's game. You can point out mistakes the O made but they also had plays that pulled us out of holes. We just needed one stand. This team proves that they have talent all over the field. But they just aren't put in the best positions, they are not prepped to start games strong. They are not taught discipline to not false start. They have no passion because the coaches have no consistent message. I have no idea what's the deal with the Defense. Their Jekyll and Hyde. But let's face it, the whole defense is discombobulated. They don't work together as one unit. The D Line isn't aware of what the Linemen are doing. The Linemen don't seem to know what the secondary is doing. And the DC is putting them all in the wrong places way more than he's figuring out how to make the entire unit successful. It's just a mess all around. The positive is that we have so much talent on the D-Line and Linebackers, and we get spotty help in the secondary that the Defensive players are performing IN SPITE of the coaches. The players are out performing the game plan. We got players on D. I still have hope for this team. We don't have to blow it all up. We just need the correct HC that is willing to take the time and energy to pull this entire group of players together to play like a team. They blew it badly.
I can't wait for the special teams delay of game rule on defence to be enforced league wide
Anyways next joke
The entire NFL average scoring per week up to Thursday's game is 22.4 points per game.
The Jags have allowed 30+ points 4 times. Even if you want to say the fumble was on Trevor that is still 23 points and below average. Only the Panthers have more games allowing 30 or more. Even the Dolphins and the Browns netted their high points mark this season up to week 7 versus the Jags. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Defense gave up 30 to a hobbled Love and Malik [BLEEP] Willis. To even think this is on Trevor is laughable.
They let Malik Willis get a 4th quarter winning drive. MALIK WILLIS. YIKES! (10-27-2024, 04:37 PM)enigma Wrote:(10-27-2024, 04:30 PM)JagFan81 Wrote: We give the D a pass for them not doing their job. The D so rarely does. The best we hope for is a stop. Turnovers are so rare, but the amount of blown coverages, missed tackles, penalties, horrible calls are hurting us way more than the 2 turnovers did. I distinctly remember the offense sputtering in at least 3 of those games where our defense had multiple stops and finally "gave in".

We have been out coached every week. Even the Patriots game, it wasn't coaching that won that game. It was the talent on the field. The patriots came out and got 10 on us before we woke up. It's been the same thing since Doug became coach. Just poorly prepared. But in 2022, at least we made adjustments in the 2nd half. For the last 2 seasons, we are just incompetent in our coaching. It's so obvious.
