I think the wife and I are going to give our tickets up to someone in the family. We park in the fairgrounds, which is extremely convenient, but the fair is going on right now so no parking. We have to get there much earlier to find an available place to park, watch the Jags get humiliated again, and then wait in line for well over an hour to drive out of downtown. Meh.

I don't know why he won't slide. He almost always dives and takes the shots unnecessarily.

It's because he's got the stones to be a real leader.  Trevor Lawrence is all about football.  He's been proving his toughness throughout this entire thing.  

You gotta respect our QB.  He's tough as nails.  It's a shame that he has trash coaching.  I kept telling ya'll.  It's the coaching staff that has messed up our franchise QB.  Yeah, Baalke has to go too.  He's garbage as well.  But Pederson and his idiot OC has completely ruined the last 2 seasons.

Lawrence doesn't slide because Lawrence has passion and wants to win.  Unlike the coaching staff and front office.  I'm so sick and tired of having to point out the obvious.  We all know what's wrong with this team.  And it's not the QB.  It's the freaking coaching, and it's the GM as well.  But we have a team here that is far better than 2-7.  This coaching staff is trash.

I hope Trevor gets the surgery and just doesn't play anymore.  There is nobody on the coaching staff or the front office that has his best interest in mind.  Shut it all down and let him get coached by true professionals that want to do the work.  Pedersen is a half [BLEEP].  We need someone that will give their whole [BLEEP].

If Jones starts the rest if the year, then im going to downscale my previous 4-13 prediction to 2-15. We wont win again. He wont have time to throw behind our decimated O Line.

We're going to either get Travis Hunter now or land a king's ransom for the #1 overall selection if a team becomes enamored with Sanders or Ward at QB.

Could be awesome to pull something off to the tune of:

A. We get Travis Hunter.

B. We get to swap first's and pick-up an additional second round pick and maybe more for 2025's draft while commanding a pair of 1's and 2's in 2026's draft and maybe even 2027's draft. 

Would love to fleece the [BLEEP] out of the Raiders if it's true they might go out and hire Deion Sanders and target his son at QB in the draft. A man can dream!

We could trade down in 2025's draft and still land a solid CB like Will Johnson or a LT like Will Campbell or Kelvin Banks Jr. Wouldn't rule out another WR as well.

If that kid from Arizona is there? McMillan? The next GM might feel compelled to secure Trevor's dynamic duo at WR with now him and BTJ for the next 4+ years.

They are absolutely cooked without him. They might be the tacks once but you're looking at a 3-14 or 4-13 season. Top 5 pick. 

There is no way you can bring Doug and Baalke back after that. Shad knows it. Baalke knows it. Doug knows it. Trevor knows it.

....unless the excuse of "we're THIS close to winning!" convinces Khan to give it one more year to shoot for healthier players and a year in the system

Exactly this.  The entire sports media here in Jacksonville are working under the assumption that Baalke and Doug are both gone by the end of the season.  I don't think that every single radio host here in the city would be speaking the way they are about our front office if there was even a doubt that Khan may keep one or the other of these dudes.  

I think everyone sees the writing on the wall.  If either was safe, don't you think someone within the organization would come out and try to tamp down all the talk about both Doug and Baalke being gone at the end of the season?

Many have been laying the bread crumbs for a while. They have all heard the same things but they can't say anything publicly. 

Campo said it yesterday. He has heard there is something between Trevor and Doug but can't get into the specifics.

It's over. It's not a matter of "if" but "when".

That right there is the key.

If TLaw goes to bat for his coach, I can see it getting another year. If TLaw thinks he's the problem, Doug's as good as done.

The season is over. This staff and GM fumbled this season in a way I didn't think could be done. Another 2nd round pick not contributing. Armstead not having a position. The Taylor/Pederson play calling fiasco. The horrific scripted 15 plays every game. Bad late game situational awareness. Poor game planning. Poor roster construction.

Trevor will be here next year but Pederson and Baalke won't be. Do the surgery and shut it down and move on to next season.

I disagree hard. We have been 62-142 since Shad Khan has taken over, I guess we should have been sitting all the players since? Why even play any player since Khan has taken over then? Fans pay a lot of money to go to games that the 275 million dollar qb is the main guy for. If he is healthy he should play, and gain some MUCH NEEDED reps with BTJ. I want those 2 on another level next season, only happens through reps. IN GAME REPS. Get them now. 

Again though, if it's something TORN... and he NEEDS surgery obviously the guy should go on IR and get surgery.

Are three wins going to make that much of a difference? If Trevor is your 275M future, and the likelihood of offseason surgery is nearly certain, there's little good in putting him out on the field to risk further injury, delay recovery, or potentially salvage a lame duck regime.

If we finish 3-14 or if we finish 6-11, the end result is practially the same - expectations were drastically unmet, we're picking early (though not as early in the second scenario), and all that just to give Trevor some reps with a WR. If Trevor is nursing injury the whole time or rushing throws to avoid contact, are those reps truly worthwhile?

Unrelated to the current discussion, but the Bengals got jobbed at the end.  I hate seeing the outcomes of games affected by poor or biased officiating.  I'm looking forward to the day of hopefully unbiased AI refereeing.  Too much money at stake to likely ever get bias out of the game though.

^ this.  If you count as a passer, you're down at the point where you initiate the dive/slide.  If you count as a runner, then you're no longer protected by the QB rules and you're diving into a DL/LB/S head first.

I also think proving you're a "tough" QB is an old-school and outdated mentality. Short of winning a Superbowl in the last second, it's much more important to get up and play the rest of the game/season than getting an extra yard.
