Quote:I'm pretty sure Maycock knows more than you or me. Otherwise, he wouldn't be getting paid for his opinions. I likr Mayock for the most part. But skip bayless gets paid a hefty deal for his opinions too. Thats not a real argument to make. Quote:<p style="margin-left:40px;">As I've mentioned before, Phil Simms was spot-on when he said on my SiriusXM Radio show, "Schein on Sports," that Geno Smith is better than any quarterback in this year's draft. In a related story, Smith was a second-round pick last year. And if Simms is right, that means that help is not on the way. Cause Geno Smith is nobody's answer at qb. ![]() Fix the O-Line!

Bayless is not an analyst in the way that Maycock is...he's a paid provocateur. ![]() Fix the O-Line!

Quote:[font=arial][size=2]Ok, I'm just wondering. Where do you get the idea that Johnny has more "upside" than Teddy? I don't get that and honestly, the whole "upside" part of draft talk I pretty much ignore. It's an intangible thing they're commenting on that they have absolutely no idea. Ryan Leaf had more "upside" than Manning in that Holy crap. Finally another person who agrees with me about upside. Every qb has the upside to be a top 3 qb of they have sufficient tools. What needs to be used is the probability one player has to reach that ceiling.
Quote:Well, it's a good thing I made point regarding maycock rather than bayless, eh? Bayless is not an analyst in the way that Maycock is...he's a paid provocateur. Even Mayock has his warts. It's really starting to feel like he stopped watching tape all throughout the year and just crams it in around February. His analysis seemed to be a lot better before the Draft blew up into a really huge money-maker for NFLN.

Don't shoot me everyone but I think Mcshay is pretty good. He's been getting better every year. I still only really listen to Waldman, norris, and Bloom. Those are the best imo. Quote:Agreed. He also seems to use more sources instead of his actual evaluation. IMO, Waldman and Norris do a really good job of supporting their opinions with video clips and to a lesser extent stats. They each make pretty compelling cases.
Quote:Agreed. He also seems to use more sources instead of his actual evaluation. Yeah, I don't always agree with McShay, but he constantly looks at tape during the year. Quote:Yeah, I don't always agree with McShay, but he constantly looks at tape during the year.Haha I just linked that in the other thread to make TMD sit down. Funny timing. Also you all are definitely right about McShay being the cream of the crop for ESPN/NFLN right now. Mayock has been getting worse and worse since he started doing all of his thursday night broadcasting, which is understandable as he just doesn't have the time to put in nearly as much work as other people anymore. Quote:Teddy Bridgewater is not what you thought he was. It's entirely possible that the Cleveland Browns have already agreed to trade up to number one just so Teddy Bridgewater can be drafted first. If you recall, they were the only(?) team to NOT attend Johnny Manziel's Pro Day workout. They are also the team that fired their head coach and GM recently. Most believe this directly relates to the old duo not wanting to draft Bridgewater. You don't run those two off and not draft Bridgewater. Houston will drop back and still be in a great position at four. They will likely add at least the Browns' second 1st round pick (26). The St. Louis Rams could possibly already have a trade worked out allowing them to drop back. Cleveland - Bridgewater Atlanta - Clowney

Quote:If you recall, they were the only(?) team to NOT attend Johnny Manziel's Pro Day workout. I'd be more inclined to believe that's a bluff than an indication of intent. Like you said, they were the only team not visiting Manziel. It isn't as though they don't have the ability to attend the Pro Day. Do they not believe he'd valuable in any round?
