That would be really nice. Save us from having to draft a center in the first three rounds

Yeah especially that stupid Stork that everyone wants.

No Center in this draft is in Mack's league.

Its legit, I've read it on multiple sources now...

That said, we still need to temper our enthusiasm somewhat - because Cleveland CAN match any offer we make. They have the means to do so and they probably want to keep Mack.

It would be a great get for the Jags if they can pull this off. If not, I'll still give them props for going after this level of player.

I don't see how we can pull this off.   Cleveland can match, and unless we way overpay the guy, they will.

I guess it's worth a shot, though.

No they can't, but they only have to match the offer to keep him.

When an offer is made, how long does Cleveland have to match?

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

The only way I could see it happen is this - The Jags probably aren't going to get too nuts with the base money - but do expect to see the recent Jason Kelce contract as the starting point - but what the Jags will have to do to try and get C;leveland to not match is offer more of the contract guaranteed than they'd probably prefer to.

Say The jags offer Mack and Cleveland matches it, does Mack have the option under the Transition Tag to take the jags offer or does he have to sign with Cleveland?

Mack would have to sign with Cleveland at that point.

But,

What I would like to know is....

Can the Jags slide one of their 5th rounders to Cleveland (trade) for Cleveland agreeing not to match? Just as extra incentive?

Thanks.  I will be interested to hear what he says.
