We stank out loud before Trevor got hurt. The rest of the guys are not irreplaceable. If your argument to save your job is that you need a specific group of guys on the field or your plan goes out the window, that ain't enough to convince anyone to keep you around.

Shad made it pretty darn clear what the expectation was when the season started. You don't backtrack from that because a few guys missed a few games. We missed guys in 2023 too, and still managed 9-8.

Nice try.

Maybe Shad shouldn't speak too soon. He did it this year and in 2021. Or say the opposite of something positive to get a positive result.

Let Baalke and Doug stay till the end of season. We'll have a better shot at losing out and getting the #1 pick for the next guys. We dont need a surge of optimism and effort by naming an interim coach.

I foresee the opposite happening if they stay.

At least if Trevor comes back.

Very soft finishing schedule with winnable games. Win a few those snakes will follow khan and we’re stuck again

That's the Nightmare scenario. The Jags whoop some scrubs and gives Shad the green light to run it back again.

Doug can stay til the end of the season, but we need to fire Baalke now and start looking for his replacement. We don't need to be spending valuable offseason time doing that.

^^So long as he has zero say in the selection of the new GM, I think that's reasonable.

Just tell him he is fired effective at the end of the season. If he wants to quit, so be it.

Baalke you can just escort him out of the building immediately. Take his phone, tell him you will pack his stuff later, and you should probably take his personal phone and break that also to limit/delay and leaks he will try to share.

Pinning a win/loss record on a hands off owner is pretty [BLEEP] stupid to begin with.

It's sort of like blaming the guy that gave you the silent partner start up money for a new business when the business fails.

One hell of a correlation fail.

Anyway - I'll stick with my not so bold prediction that we are hiring a new GM and HC in the Spring.

I agree with you in the short-term, but that "silent partner" is directly responsible for choosing the person that actively leads the team (or CEO in your simile.)  In Shad's term he's had Gene Smith, David Caldwell, Trent Baalke as GMs, and if you're prediction is correct a brand new GM in 2025.  So in that case, two of his hand picked GM's have failed to perform and he's responsible for picking the next one.  After owning the team for nearly 13 years, that 60-139 record certainly isn't all on him, but most of it is on the people that he has hired.

Urban Meyer and Doug Pederson were both hand picked decisions by Shad. He said so himself in both opening press conferences with the “I got it right this time” comments. He’s a lot more hands on than you believe, or you’re just ignoring those things. Caldwell and Baalke both on Shad, and the inability to clean house directly on Shad. Double GM with Coughlin, on Shad. Pretty wild to believe he’s hands off lol.

I do not believe anyone with a sane mind is blaming Shad for the record. They are blaming Shad for his continuous behavior of waiting too long to make a change.  We seen how long it took with Dave Caldwell, Gus, and other decisions.

The Jags just have not been bad under Shad.  They have been historically bad.

Shad needs to find another way to get the right personal in place.  The fans try to tell him with the clown mask but fell on deaf ears.  Here we are again.  The Stadium is cool, the shipyard is cool, but most fans want a winner.  Shad is the lone common denominator in the Jaguars failure.

Maybe he should turn over day to day operations to Tony. Just sayin’.
