I like that advice by the great goat gator coach, urban Meyer. However, I will disagree slightly and say that BB would also be a great choice. He would be a win NOW choice.

Dude's in his 70's, you kinda HAVE to make that choice about "now"...

I cannot offer an unbiased response to that rumor.

If that exact scenario plays out, I think I would be done.

So
1) Secure top 5 draft pick
2) Fire Doug
3) Hire Deion
4) Promise to draft Shedeur
5) Other team drafts Shedeur ahead of us
6) a Manning/Rivers draft day game of chicken plays out
7) Trevor traded, perhaps in the same deal?

Steps 4-7 all put the team in a bad bargaining position. It could be worth it, IF Shedeur was the next Lamar Jackson or some such. But I doubt that.

Some other team, that has less to lose, is going to do these things. I don't think it's us.
My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.

I found myself initially laughing about the idea of Deion but if you put in a truly competent personnel guy and an experienced staff…I dunno, I think he’d be someone the players would really respect and sometimes you need that more than some of the other skills.

I've followed the "Prime" story since he first got to Colorado.  He basically blew up the entire roster when he showed up.  There's a video of him basically telling the entire team that they were all on the chopping block.  I figured this clown of a personality trying to make pretend being a HC would be a complete [BLEEP] show.

But the 2023 Colorado Buffalos were a fun watch and they were competitive in most their games.  With all the lack of talent on the O-Line and the D-Line, Sanders had talent at the skill positions and he coached up a really terrible team to respectability.

In 2024, nobody gave Sanders and the Buffs a chance to sniff a bowl game, much less the College Playoffs.  And yet they were in contention to make the Playoffs up until last week!  Sanders is a really good HC.  He's convinced me over the last 2 years.  But Sanders also said he's happy in Colorado.  I don't think he wants an NFL job.  Maybe he's just playing the game, but I don't think he's really ready to give up the fun and success he's having in the College game.  He's good at it.  He loves coaching the kids.  I'm not sure he likes the idea of having to deal with grown men at this point in his coaching progression.

With that said, if we somehow got Sanders to come here as HC, I'd be pretty excited to see it.  At least with Coach Prime, you know he's gonna give you the best he has, because he doesn't except anything less from anyone else.  Of course, we'd have to have the #1 overall pick, select his son, and trade Lawrence for pennies on the dollar.

But hey, it's fun to speculate.

Coach prime staying in college, he landed the #2 Qb recruit and has a decent recruit class coming in. He also milks that transfer portal. It’s where he should be.

The “do you believe” slogan really ain’t going to work with grown [BLEEP] men lol.

It's too soon to begin with. While Colorado has looked flashy and better under his direction? They haven't really done anything major yet. Still have issues on defense. Still have issues with their offensive line. He'll have a lot to prove next season with his sons leaving for the NFL along with guys like Hunter and Horn also out of the picture.

Should be an interesting year for him as a coach.

A few things:

- He brought a lot of talent with him when he hired on at CU. They've had the benefit of multiple years running the system, and in CFB with so much churn on rosters and limited practice time, that's a big advantage. I want to see if he can keep up the krootin and coach up the kids once Shedeur and Hunter move up.

- As far as taking an NFL job, I think he's in a perfect spot, with NIL and his swagger he can stack the deck in his favor where he might not be able to do the same at this level. He may not stay at CU forever, but I think he stays in CFB. He can make as much or more at that level without the uphill battle of fighting against a fixed cap, draft, etc to build a team. I kinda think he'd end up like Spurrier did when he tried his hand at the shield.

I definitely think he has charisma and can cater a locker room speech to adults, but salesmanship isn't going to win football games at this level.

He can win with top krootz, but can he get a team with a Sam Darnold-esque QB into playoff contention? There's the rub.

Man. He sure has flip flopped a lot this past week. Now he's on IR because of his shoulder but he was healthy enough to play last week? Gimme a break with this loser.

Jags owner is doing enough. The coaches have failed this team. I’m not too happy about Balkie either. This team needs offense line help up the middle and a great cornerback or 2. Also, an attacking defense play caller as well as a better offensive one.

Oh dear, you're going to be so disappointed when the next coaching staff has the same Baalke-created limitation that this one does.

Which is why I don't think BB will be hired. From a personal perspective, he doesn't fit with Khan and he seems to value that more than skill .. see Baalke.

Only took until the 2nd half of week 14 to figure out that you should put the ball in the hands of your best players....

Hey, just believe in Dough.  You guys can't figure it out.  He doesn't have to explain it to you...  We're way too dumb to understand the delicate genius.
