Cities and states that protect illegals should forfeit ALL Federal monies sent to it........

Another major blue city doubles down on vow to obstruct Trump’s mass deportations plan

Boston council member Gabriela Coletta said the measure is an important step 'as we brace for [the] impact' of a second Trump presidency

The Boston City Council unanimously voted this week to double down on a measure designed to obstruct President-elect Trump’s plans for mass deportations.
According to the Boston Herald, Boston council member Gabriela Coletta said the measure is an important step "as we brace for [the] impact" of a second Trump presidency.
Titled the "Trust Act," the law was first passed in 2014 and was amended during Trump’s first term in 2019.

Someone should tell Boston the performative outrage movement has peaked.

I wonder if their citizens feel the same way. NYC and Chicago citizens are ready for deportations to start.

That and it will give the new DOJ a cornucopia of laws to choose from. However, while they are contemplating their navels behind bars they can't steal from the public. It just may balance the city budget if they are there long enough.

It's reasonable to say that a city is more safe when all of the residents trust the cops, and immigration enforcement breaks down that trust,
but,
we had an election about it, and,
your side lost!
I also think it's important to note that members of city councils don't go out and enforce laws either way.

How are they going to catch these people? They are everywhere, and they don't wear signs that say, "I'm an illegal alien."

They're not going to catch all of them.
The point is to try, get a significant chunk, to let the people who are thinking about coming know that we are serious.  And maintain that level of seriousness.  It's about respect for the law.

They can start with the ones that get arrested.  Deport them rather than letting them back out on the streets.

Back to the original post, I don't see anything wrong with denying federal funds to cities or entities that are actively shielding illegal aliens from getting deported.
