Don't know if his names been mentioned but one guy that I wouldn't hate would be Pete Carroll. He did a good job with young guys and developing talent in Seattle. I think he'd need some good co-ordinatiors but he's a name that's kinda been forgotten this season.

Pete’s too old, as is Belichick. Need to find some younger talent that can be here a while if it pans out.

Pete will be 74 this coming year. Im good with 50s or even 60 but 74 is a bit old. He would have to bring in elite coordinators for me to be good with that hire and someone in the wings to take over in a few years for me to be good with that. Oh damn didn't realise he was quite that old. He's got a good football brain but his age would be a problem. Probably better for a team looking for someone to put building blocks in place for the next HC to go from. We definitely need to be looking long term for the new HC, even if the early year records aren't great, just need to see we're building towards something (12-25-2024, 06:26 PM)JagFan81 Wrote:(12-25-2024, 04:23 PM)homebiscuit Wrote: Pete’s too old, as is Belichick. He also understands what it takes to win and develop. He also had a pretty high hit rate on self scouting his own players and maximizing their strengths. If we went to him and was like, could you be EVP here for like 2 seasons to help get things set up right, that would be a huge win for the franchise. I think they over extended themselves in trades/FA toward the end of their run though, so he should not have strict oversight over personnel.
I just realized that if we hire Ben Johnson from Detroit, he could bring with him his Quarterback Coach to be our new offensive coordinator. Mark Brunell!

Mark Brunell! My guess is Brunell would get elevated to OC in Detroit but I would love that. Coen is still my top choice. Coming from McVay and the way he loves to run the ball. I’m in. Chicago has to be the heavy favorite to land Johnson. Both Vrabel and Coen would be interesting choices. Vrabel has the experience and would be great for team culture which the Jaguars need to change drastically. Coen is more risky due to his age and lack of experience, but his ceiling his way higher.

Ben Johnson is clearly the best choice to many of us. But man, the way the Washington Commanders (I wish they would just go back to their old logo and name) have been developing their rookie QB... I think Kingsbury would be a decent option. I mentioned this what seems like years ago, but was probably just 6 games ago, and was shouted down. Dude has HC experience. Dude got the best out of Murray than anyone else did. And he's making Washington look like a legit offense. The way that QB has developed, the way that offense is running, my bros this Kingsbury guy may be the best rehire we can get. I think we could do a lot worse for revamping the offense and reigniting our franchise QB.

Jags the #1 spot for a potential coach and GM. (12-26-2024, 05:12 PM)Cleatwood Wrote: https://twitter.com/travisdholmes/status...915L-t18Xg One day closer.

My fellow southpaw Mark Brunell will probably always be my favorite Jaguar.
Off Topic: I'll call them the commanders..but I have the old logo on my modded Madden 2025 game.
ON topic. The GM hire is even more important than the head coach. Who are the GM candidates?

Brandon Scherff is no longer that dude. Next season I want him gone.
Do you guys really think Shad will clean house again?
Afraid I don't
Because Jaguars is our mantra
