Well they were eliminated from playoff contention today with the loss to the Giants so chances are they’re weighing the decision of playing AR and risking a serious injury. If it was us in that situation, I’m sure Lawrence would not be playing. We’ll see.

If Flacco plays, we definitely can finish the season with a win and 2 game win streak against division rivals. Personally, I see Baalke safe. If the plan was to fire him, I’m not sure why you wouldn’t and start the interviews early (like the Jets) to get a head start and get a GM in place so then you can properly conduct a HC search. If they happen to both be fired, is the plan to do the interviews simultaneously? Do you find a GM first, while wasting precious time that be used for HC options? Do you hire a HC first and then get a GM? Is it a combo pack GM/HC?

Personally I’d say you go get a GM first because he should be here longer. You shouldn’t hire a HC first and then allow him to pick a GM. What if the HC is a lame duck or has massive issues? Then what? Now you’re stuck with a GM who was hand selected by a HC who you’re firing. This is why I feel Baalke is pretty safe. If he is fired, well we are going to be very behind in the HC search or we are doing a situation I outlined above that to me is pretty dumb.

I don't see a win next week and would probably rather keep our pick higher with a loss so we may be high enough to lure trade down offers, but I think whatever happens with this GM and HC is long since decided

And I happen to think they are both gone

Whaaaaat?! Beating the tacks twice doesn’t sway you into keeping Baalke and Trent?!

The loss to the Raiders is one of the worst losses I’ve ever seen for the Jags.

It’s over baby. Now we just hope the Bucs don’t fire Bowles and keep Coen.

LOL

Yeah - I've been on team "they're both cooked" since the primetime loss to the bills.

And yes  - bring on Coen. I think he'd cook up a great scheme for TL/BTJ + our backfield and TE room.

But if Flacco plays he's gonna set the single game passing yd record. All in the 4th quarter.

Time to sweep the Colts and remind them who their daddy is.

I doubt it. I have a sinking feeling we're going to keep both of them after they win the season finale.

5 wins keeps the band together.

I don't care about draft seeding as much as I used to unless a QB is involved. But we're not in the market for one. So I'm pulling for a win.

I also think the decision around baalke and doug was made long ago. A couple wins down the stretch against weak competition shouldn't change anything.

Correct, the same as a couple losses down the stretch aren't going to make a difference. What's important is that we don't know the terms of either of those two's contracts, so Shad may not want to pay out two or three years by firing them. If he thinks that the sunk costs are enough to warrant more time then they're going to get it.

We've won once on the road all season and I don't see that changing on Sunday. Whatever the score is on Sunday will have no impact on Shads decision. They are either gone or staying already.

I just hope that Shad, if he does decide to keep one or both, is ready for the monumental blowback from the fans and media. Well be back to the laughing stock franchise. On the other hand I hope if we do move on that he's been spending these last 2 months finding who he wants for those positions.

The guy owns a European soccer club, you think Jacksonville NFL fans even compare to what he already deals with?

He finally managed to turn Fulham around. They have a good team there now. Ironically it's mainly down to their manager and director of football (basically a GM) who have made a lot of good decisions and implemented a style and built a team that plays to it.

It's everything we've wanted from him here. Now does he feel that Doug and Baalke can implement that style and vision and this was just a horrible year (Vikings went 7-10 last year, 14-2 this year) and give them another shot?

It would be a hell of a big call.

This is my issue. I sure hope so, but there are a lot of rules for tampering and stuff, and in this day and age I’m sure there would have been some sort of leak about potential options/interviews. There would also be strong leaks about Baalke being let go. All we really have heard is vague rumors and that really the only person who knows is Shad himself. Meanwhile the Jets have been full on looking for GM options for weeks. There is going to be a lot of HC jobs available, I’d hate to miss out on the top options because we are too busy looking for a GM due to Shads inactivity.

Let's be honest. The Jaguars can be summed up by the intro line to 'Whose Line Is it Anyway?'
