If everyone is saying it’s a loaded roster, #1 HC landing spot- does that not indicate the GM is doing his job?

Now myself- I’m on the record saying this is a PISS POOR roster. I don’t believe this is a loaded roster by any means. I believe we need a full roster reconstruction. When you lose 52-6 and 47-10 to the 2 top teams in the conference’s, that should tell you it’s BAD.

The fact is Khan fell for the media and fan bait by saying this is a loaded roster and #1 HC option spot. Disgusting.

I agree with this. Especially the bolded portion. This team 8 - 3 in the 2023 regular season prior to the injuries to Lawrence and Kirk. However, when you look at the actual competitive and competent opponents they had that year? They couldn't put up much of a fight.

They lucked themselves into a lot of wins in 2022. We were sold fool's gold since then. This roster is nowhere near ready to compete the way it was billed out to be. I don't buy into it neither.

Your offensive line is below average.
Your defensive line is below average.
Your secondary is awful.
Your run game is awful.
Your QB cannot stay healthy.
Your best playmakers on offense cannot stay healthy.

The three good quality units to this team are maybe your LB room, your DE room and your ST's unit. That's about it. Everything else is lackluster or missing a piece or two in my opinion. And this with a general manager that 38 overall picks to work with and broke the bank in back-to-back years via free agency.

This is a roster with 2 #1 picks, a lot of high picks and big ticket FA. This should be an absolutely loaded roster. The problem is the big ticket FA'S have largely been disappointments and behind the top 5 picks, there's not much talent from the later round picks.

This was the argument behind the scenes. Baalkes built a good roster and Doug isn't getting the best out of it. Doug argued the roster wasn't great and the additions didn't take us forwards.

Shad has taken Baalkes side and thinks a new coach gets this roster back into the playoffs.

How Baalke defends his spending in FA in 2024 is a mystery.  Baalke does get some points for trading down and still landing BTJ, but most of the league still thinks taking Travon Walker over Hutchinson was a terrible decision.

Everything about this sounds awful.

Yep. No idea how it will actually work.

Just as an example say the new HC wants Higgins. Baalke wants Godwin. Who's responsible for signing guys now? Does Khan have to fight for Higgins as that's what the HC wants or does he take that name to Baalke? Is Khan having final say over signings and both HC and Baalke talk to Khan?

Just an absolute mess. Why can't we just do the simple things right? Why do we act like we're the smartest guys in the room and have to do it differently to how every other team does it?

I do have the email of the top person on the business side, if it is still active. They understand and have tried to tell Khan but it seems to just fall on deaf ears. I made it clear when ending our season tickets that it was because of the continued losing and terrible decisions from ownership.

The roster is fatally flawed in a couple areas but by no means do they need a rebuild. They need to fix the middle, ie Oline, Dline, and safeties. Pretty much the same as last year actually, just Baalke had a disappointing free agent class and the defensive coordinator was a flop. He added BTj (on a trade down), Smith who looked better at the end as expected, Jarrian Jones looks like a solution at CB, Jefferson as a Nose, and our new All Pro Cam Little. That's a pretty good class. But Keeping Cleveland and the luck in landing Morse (an upgrade but clearly on the downslope now) aside, Armstead, Davis, and Darby just outright sucked. Baalke couldn't put the whole offseason together (again). Fix Center, Guard, the DT rotation, add a pass rusher, and fix free safety. They've got 40 million in cap and a bunch of picks to do it with.

Not a bad assessment. I would however maybe rephrase and reorderit a bit.

Your QB cannot stay healthy.
Your best playmakers on offense cannot stay healthy.
Because (at least an influencing factor)
Your offensive line is below average.
Your defensive line is below average.

One step closer to London?

There's laws about dumping toxic waste.

UK fans already have teams and I can tell you the Jags aren't even in the top 20.

London games may sell out, a Jags schedule definitely won't.

If anything, that only emphasizes Khan’s tone deafness. Were he tuned in, he would realize the fan base is looking for an excuse to cancel tickets. By not announcing straightaway if Baalke is going to retire, the season ticket cancellations are piling up right now.

London will never happen under any circumstance for any team. People need to let go of this idiotic idea.

I think the Jaguars have a 30-year lease in Jacksonville and a billion dollar stadium rebuild on the way.  So, not moving to London.

I hope I find a million dollars in a brown paper bag in my front yard.  I think there’s an equal chance of that happening.

That arrangement is a mystery to me as well.  The only way I can make sense out of it is if Shad Khan is sending out the message that the next head coach will be totally in charge.  Which begs the question, what if the next head coach wants to bring in his own GM?

If the next head coach is going to be totally in charge, doesn't that leave Trent Baalke twisting in the wind?

I cannot fathom this.
I hate Baalke but now I truly hate Khan. Baalke is now more of a symptom than a cause.

Khan is a cancer to this franchise. Some will say but yeah he’s committed to Jax!

Yes. He’s committed a piss poor team. Jax deserves better. All his projects to make downtown better? Pssh. Nothings come of it.

When he said that having an NFl team is easy money he meant it. He doesn’t care because he gets his money. Why go through the cost of moving and breaking a lease when he can just stand pat and collect?

Screw him. He is now the worst owner in the NFl and it’s not even close. At least woody Johnson admitted the jets shat the bed and need to move on and cut hair. Same with the giants. Bears did the same last year.

So done

As I have said before, Khan has done squat for this city and downtown has actually become worse under him.

He sucks. I really wish Weaver had a kid to pass the team to. I miss him.
