I am just curious if the team continues to struggle, how is it going to look when that new stadium opens up to half the seats covered in tarps?

All we can hope for is that Ben Johnson says he only comes here if he can bring in his own GM. Of course, Baalke is the Owner of this franchise now, and no way is Baalke going to fire the GM...

I remembered being excited when Jaguars hired Pederson and thought Jaguars are going to be back on the right track with the Pederson hire but I was dead wrong, Pederson is just a mediocre coach overall

With this owner, the only vote you have is with your wallet. The Clown Mask, the Messages from the media, the bad national press does not fade this owner. Embarrassing him on the national stage and hurting his pockets will force him to listen. It's like the people who complain about their favorite restaurant's food degrading in quality but yet they continue to go there and continue to spend their money. Why change if the people will continue to pay?

I had that too and you were not wrong.  He was that guy for the first year.  After that he kinda mailed it in.

Won't happen. He'll end up with the Bears or Jets.

You are right, I forgot that Pederson took the Jaguars to the playoffs in his first year

Yeah, I know...  Looks like we'll be scrapping the bottom of the barrel for our next "coach".  Hello Darkness, my old friend.

So if less fans show up, then Shad/Jags will do a better job?

I am 50/50 on him. He got a lot out of Dallas and he's in Philadelphia now with that juggernaut of an offense. His stint in 2023 with the Chargers was hindered by a hobbled Herbert. No running game there as well.

I like Kellen as a play caller though. He's just young. My concern with any of these young hires would be what they do on defense more than anything. They haven't been around long enough to build up a good network I would wager.

I am almost at the point to where I would just double down on toxicity at this point. Give me Brian Flores to go along with Trent Baalke. [BLEEP] it. Pete Carroll would be interesting as hell though here. Could see him being savvy and easy going enough to convince Khan that Baalke's the issue.

Carroll would then figure out what he needs in the front office in 2026. After he pulls off a Raheem Morris first year in Jacksonville.

Coen has done a great job in Tampa this year. Love how they've just gone for it. Sadly I think he'd stay at Tampa over coming here.

What's going to be interesting is Baalke has 1 year left. Having that uncertainty over what's going to happen at the GM position could also deter HC. Is the new GM going to want to make their own choice? Is Baalke getting an extension regardless of next season?

It's just another layer of uncertainty that's probably going to work against us when we're HC hunting compared to our rivals.

I've not heard one person today say keeping Baalke was the right move.

I can't wait for the draft:

"For the third pick of the 2025 draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Joe Smith, Defensive End. Unfortunately, Joe can't be at the draft ceremony, but we have live camera feed with him and his family from Joe's hospital room as he recovers from kneecap reattachment surgery."

-later-

"The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded up for the 27th pick, and they select Bill Wilson, Safety."

They won’t be because the NFL blackout rule is a thing of the past.

Aka there’s no penalty at least for broadcast purposes so no need to reduce capacity.

What it will hurt if large enough is that ticket revenue is one of the full 100 percent revenue streams the jags keep.

Are we sure Ben Johnson wasn't already aware Baalke was staying and still wants the job?  The reporting (if you can believe it) is that Ben Johnson prefers the Jax job to others if it's open (it now is) and that Mark Brunell would be coming with him.  If there have been preliminary indications of interest from both the Jags and Ben's agent, I would have to imagine the status of the GM would have been a detail given or a question already asked.  What if he's interested regardless and we still get him?

No thank you on Flores, who would want a coach that missed the playoffs for 3 straight years? I do not care if Flores had 2 winning seasons either
