Question.  Did you read the article?  There is no way in hell I’d consider him.  The Cowboys were awful this year even before they started getting beset by injuries.  I guess I have home field knowledge of some of the stuff that went on out here during the season.

I did. Similar to here, it seems the Front Office did him few favors last year with their personnel moves and even with those losses and the rash of injuries they still managed to gut out some wins. I don't think I want him as play caller, but I'm not like some on here who demand that the head coach also be the OC. I'm good with him as Head man and it seems that the cowboys had several successful seasons while he's been there. I still rate him pretty highly against the Jags' list of candidates.

He's peaked. I see him as another Doug Pederson type. Piggybacking off the success of one Superbowl win and riding it into oblivion. The future is now old man. Time to hire the next Sean McVay and move onto better and brighter days.

Laughs in Andy Reid.

And he is an HC play caller…

Andy Reid had more notches on his belt during his career than Mike McCarthy did when they respectively moved onto their new locations. Granted, Mike did at least win a Superbowl with his first team. I just don't see him as a coach that puts your team over the top anymore.

He's washed in my opinion. He underachieved in Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers and he underachieved again in Dallas with Dak Prescott. You're getting another Doug Pederson type in my opinion and you would have to look closely at who he hires to run his defense.

Just like Doug.

I will say, if it’s between Saleh and McCarthy, I’d take McCarthy.  But that’s not saying I like either.  Sounds like da Bears want him anyway.

An HC play caller whose offense went from #3 to #20 after he scapegoated Moore and sent him packing.

The Cowboys D was terrible and Micah Parsons continually showed his displeasure with the team and coaching throughout each game. Personally, I don't think Micah is that great but I favor a coach that appears to have control over his team. I also see McCarthy as another Pederson.

Agreed. McCarthy > Saleh in a heartbeat. I still like the idea of getting a little bit younger with an offensive minded coach looking to make a name for himself.

So it's good that you guys all agreed with me! I said McCarthy at the top of the list of retreads but behind 3 of the younger coordinator guys. Sounds like we're all in the same zip code on this.

And you also said he’s in your top five, so no, I don’t agree with you.  So there’s that…

If it’s Saleh, his OC would have to be someone like Kubiak.

At least the Jags would be tough and the defense would be really good.

They are attempting to interview ten guys.
I'm gonna wait it out before catastrophizing every interview as our impending death knell.

So list your guys then. I said Johnson, Glenn, and Brady are the only ones I would take over McCarthy. I would not take Spags, Salah, Flores, Graham, Monken, or Moore over him. I am on the fence about Coen, I just haven't seen enough out of him and his work history is...odd.

Johnson
Glenn
Brady
McCarthy
Flores
Coen
Spags
Moore
Monken
Graham
Salah

That's my order.

No need to post an order. Get some fresh meat in there.  I want ZERO retreads.  Same as when we hired Dougie.

It's fine if they are seeing if he would take a DC job if the HC was interested.

It's 10 in round 1, round 2 will probably be 3-5. They will be lucky to make a decision before the Super bowl. The only good thing about that is Johnson may be in the Super bowl and not sign anywhere else.

Lol, oh that's a great dynamic. Glad to see we are searching for our DC right now lol.
