It is probably the worst option so naturally, Khan loves it.  He makes the worst football decisions for building a winning culture here. His record as owner proves that.

Wolf, I agree that Saleh is a terrible hire.

I don't know about Ben Johnson. Outside of his OC success, what do we know about him. Do we know he is a leader of men?

Khan  will no doubt, make the worst hire.

In my opinion, the best way to salvage Trevor's career is the build a defense and a running game.  Whichever coach can do that successfully would be my choice, and I think there are probably several.

My feeling is that Saleh is the "safety" HC. He has some ties to the organization, and will certainly be there if the Jaguars miss out on the "headliners." No real reason, but it just seems to fit the narrative.

That completely goes against what I know about the guy. He is above reproach and would rather retire than undermine the organization's success.

That is just so beyond me I just can't handle it.

Curious who the source is that made this statement. That he would backstab anybody to survive. There was a lot of things that came out this past season that raised some eyebrows. Starting with Cisco's comment on the team quitting after they lost to the Bears in London.

You then had some odd comments with Doug getting defensive and basically calling Lawrence a wuss when his shoulder injury came up and he was asked why he wasn't starting. Now you have the whole report on Nielsen being arrogant that came out not too long ago.

Goes back to Caldwell's comments post dismissal when he said the problem was still here in the building. I just wish these guys would stop being [BLEEP] and just namedrop the source. Leave no room for interpretation. His source could have been the janitor for all we know.

Jerry Jones was the reason I moved on from Dallas Cowboy Fandom. Khan may just be the reason I move on from Jaguars. He doesn't seem to have learned much in his time here. I am grateful that he is keeping the team in Jax but man the winning seems to happen occasionally by accident.

There sure isn't a vision or plan to have a Jaguars football approach. I admit TC was a piraha but he established the Franchise and how we would play. It was fun and even when the talent dropped off, he coached up the team to fight I really felt like they would score at any moment.

Jaguars football under Khan is waiting for the wheels to fall off or the other shoe to drop.

The statement wasn't that he "would" backstab anybody to survive. It's that he was backstabbing EVERYBODY to survive.

As we would expect from him. It is what he is.

Jason Cole said it but doesn't site a source.

Cole by the way - has written about the NFL for decades but has been relegated to sites like bleacher report and 33rd team - so he has history - but not much going on in the league currently.

Maybe he's got something - maybe he's parroting the mob narrative. Who knows?

Meh. Borgonzi sounds like something on Olive Garden's menu. Perhaps he's just riding Mahomes's coattails. Here's a comparison of Baalke's notable draft picks compared to the Chiefs' notable picks in the same span. I don't see a clear advantage for either scouting department.

2024
Baalke:
WR Brian Thomas
DT Maason Smith

Borgonzi:
WR Xavier Worthy
OT Kingsley Suamataia

2023
Baalke:
OT Anton Harrison
TE Brenton Strange
RB Tank Bigsby

Borgonzi:
DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah
WR Rashee Rice,
OT Wanya Morris

2022
Baalke:
DE Travon Walker
LB Devin Lloyd
LB Chad Muma

Borgonzi:
CB Trent McDuffie,
DE George Karlaftis
WR Skyy Moore
RB Isiah Pacheco

2021
Baalke:
QB Trevor Lawrence
RB Travis Etienne
CB Tyson Campbell
OT Walker Little

Borgonzi:
(no first round picks)
LB Nick Bolton
C Creed Humphrey
G Trey Smith

^With the understanding that the Chiefs were mostly on the opposite side of each draft round.  Trent McDuffie stands out to me from the Borgonzi "picks." He was picked at #21 and he's been an All-Pro twice.  And of course Trey Smith, who has been mentioned as a FA that the Jaguars want to get this year.

Exactly. It was the easiest difference to cite really. We're comparing a franchise that's had the #1 overall pick within a 3 year span, and this is now it's third or fourth time picking within the top 5 - 10 within the same time frame that Baalke's been in charge.

Borgonzi at least comes from a winning franchise that clearly has a formula for success. Sure, it's fantastic to have Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. However, you still have to build the rest of the team, you still have to compete, you still have to have competence and the ability to backfill while winning which decreases your odds of landing top tier talent to backfill with to begin with.

Borgonzi >>>>>> Baalke. Within two years, that [BLEEP] team will probably win the division and it'll be more than likely Quarterbacked by Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders. He COULD, also, very much decide to trade out of that spot and opt to go a different route with his first year in charge at the QB position.

He definitely has a level of obliviousness walking around with those curled up collar tips.  You start making judgements about a person's intelligence whether that's fair or not.  He'll looks like he'll fit right in in tackland.

Hehe, I thought I was gonna see a popped collar.  I'm not sure I've ever seen a man judged based on the angle of his 'non-popped' collar tips. Tongue

Back when I had to wear a monkey suit like that to work, I bought only dress shirts with buttons on the collar to ensure I wouldn’t sport the curled up collar tips. It looks almost as slovenly as bellicheat’s hoodie and sweat pants.
