Coen seems to be the favorite at this point and Robinson mentions that the Jags may like Coen more than Johnson.

Actually Sanders to the Cowgirls is gaining a lot of traction out here in DFW.

I have a hard time seeing Jerry give up the attention he craves.

Coen coming here is interesting. Would prefer Ben Johnson or Joe Brady over him but it's still an interesting hire. My concern with him, for whatever reason, I just keep getting a Jay Gruden vibe from him. From his tenure in Washington.

I could see him struggling in year one, maybe striking gold in year two, and then, it's really a toss up.

Agreed. I also don't think Sanders is ready for the NFL. He's had mediocre success in Colorado and his persona, image and mouth have been more entertaining than the actual product on the field in Colorado.

I don't think he's deserving of an NFL head coaching job yet.

From my non-scientific sample of what I read on the internet, Johnson and Glenn seem to be the hot candidates, league-wide.

But I'm not as against Saleh as some people seem to be.  His record with the Jets was the result of some bad circumstances.  Zach Wilson was the consensus #2 pick at the time, and since he was the #2 overall pick, the Jets felt like they had to start him, and he busted.  [BLEEP] happens.

Saleh would not be my first choice, though.  But I don't think he'd be bad at all.

Liam Coen is 39 years old and doesn't have a lot of experience.  One year with the Rams, followed by one year with Kentucky, followed by one year with the Bucs.  Hiring someone to be a head coach in the NFL, when he has that little amount of experience, seems like quite a gamble.

From Coen's Wikipedia page:

"Coen was named the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Kentucky on December 15, 2020.[10] In Coen's unofficial interview with Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops, he presented a detailed plan of schedules and responsibilities as well as a video compilation of 300 offensive plays he thought he could implement from his time with the Rams."

So maybe he interviews well?
Rams. Then Kentucky. Then Rams again. Then Kentucky again. Then Bucs.

Lots of QBs tend to look good under Coen.

McVay didn't have many things going for him before he was hired by the Rams.

You find the good ones from all over. I don't think there's a right or wrong path here for finding good head coaches. The culture setters like McDermott and Campbell. The smart offensive minds like Reid, McVay, LaFleur or Shannahan. You just need to find the right guy to fit your team. For me, thats Coen, Johnson or Glenn.

Would hinge on how his staff was filled out for me.

As I said earlier he may be the Jags 10th choice and my 14th, but he seemed like a legit leader in NY before the owner allowed the QB to take over the entire franchise.

Regardless, I don't see it happening at all. The Khans will lean toward an offensive guy that promises to realize Lawrence's potential tout suite IMO.

Not a shocker, but our QB has stated his preference.   He didn't have to add the descriptor "young" in there, but he did, so I would presume he prefers either Ben or Liam from this current crop of candidates. Interesting that the team's X account would highlight this specific comment in the midst of a coaching search with other candidates that don't fully fit the qualifiers he gave. It's the comment I was immediately drawn to when I watched this brief interview yesterday.

It would be back to the Gus Bradley era and expect to lose every game but hope it's enjoyable. Ticket sales should tank.

Hasn't everybody predicted pretty much everyone by now?

I want BEN JOHNSON but there are definitely other coaches out there that could turn this thing around pretty quickly IMO.

Trying to stay open minded.

Lags was on the radio yesterday saying he asked Brunell about Johnson and Brunell said he's a real leader. Not just an X's and O's guy.

Hopefully that's true, and hopefully he gets an offer.

Would love this hire personally. He's worked with Burrow and Allen. If anybody can elevate Lawrence it's Joe Brady. This is assuming that he also comes down here to head coach and run the offense as the play caller.

That then leaves the defensive coordinator position open for interpretation. However, would be pretty sick to pull Joe Brady in and then Khan and Baalke are able to pivot to him and say that they would also like Saleh to be the defensive coordinator and possibly assistant head coach with Brady having final say on personnel needs or the ability to override Baalke at least in critical areas of need.

Joe Brady and Robert Saleh in this division could go a long way.

I've seen 4 different coaches called "the favorite" to be our next coach.

Something about a wall and things sticking etc

You will be apathetic until they start winning games.  If they start winning, all of us will jump back on the bandwagon.  Including you.

I’m not apathetic myself.  I just don’t care.

I keep hearing Ben Johnson but outside of being a Good OC do we know anything about him? Any reason to believe he is a leader of men?
