Just his supporters saying he's a great leader.  That's about it.  But I don't know how you find out how a person is as a head coach until you put them in that position, because coordinator and head coach are totally different jobs.  I suppose the only thing to do is for Khan to pick a guy who impresses him, and hope he also impresses the players.

That's a lot of hope. Khan seems easily impressed based on his history of hiring coaches.

Brunell said he was a leader. But there is bias there of course.

I just heard a Tampa Bay Bucs reporter on 1010xl who said that if the Glazers, owners of the Bucs, start thinking they might lose Liam Coen to the Jaguars, they might fire Todd Bowles and give the head coaching job to Liam Coen. Of course, he was speculating, but that is an interesting scenario.

It sounds like either one would be a good hire.  I would hope that whoever they do hire insists on bringing in his own GM.

Interesting indeed. I just read that Khan and Baalke are set to interview Brian Flores this Friday as well.

These are two first-time head coaches, neither with head coaching experience at any level. Someone said here (I can't quite remember who) that if the Jags hire a first-timer, they will keep Balke.  Looking prescient.

He could bring his own GM, but if Baalke is doing the interviews then that's not on.  Flores is DOA before he even walks into the room.

You have to admit that would be a funny scene.

Baalke:  So Flores, what's your plan to fix the team.
Flores:  The first thing I would do is to bring in a GM that actually knows what the hell they're doing.
Baalke (while sobbing):  Get out of my office!
Khan steps in: Actually Baalke, that's exactly what we're doing.  This was really more of an 'exit' interview for you.

I'm thinking out of the box ..... Bring in Ron Zook

The Zooker has been pretty active over the past 5 years

Salt Lake Stallions (2019) Special teams coordinator & secondary coach
Maryland (2019–2020) Senior analyst
Maryland (2021) Associate head coach & special teams (defensive) coordinator
Seattle Sea Dragons (2023) Defensive coordinator
Maryland (2024–present) Special teams quality control coach

I don’t even think Coen wants Baalke. No one does.

If they’re choosing between Ben Johnson and Liam Coen (which a lot of people are speculating), then at least we are in the right ball park. Either coach would bring a fresh and exciting playbook. Then, if they can lure Saleh for DC? We are back in the hunt for the division.

You will be apathetic until they start winning games.  If they start winning, all of us will jump back on the bandwagon.  Including you.

With Saleh?  Laughing Laughing Laughing

If they hire Saleh it will be another 2/3 pathetic years and a bunch of more excuses for Trevor.
I don't feel much better with Coen and I am against hiring him... but I dunno, I could be wrong about him.

I am a fan, not a cheerleader.

We could hire Gus or Urbz...but something tells me the reaction would be a bit above apathy.

Huh?  Cowboys could disappear from the face of the earth and I wouldn’t care.

Oh nothing would make me happier than Jerruh making a big splash on a bad hire and watching it spiral to death.

Sanders ain't ready, he's not really shown that he can do much without the best player in college ball, so yeah, if this is the direction they are headed, hoo doggie I am ON. BOARD.

My humble opinions:

Thrilled - Ben Johnson

Happy - Liam Coen, Aaron Glenn, Todd Monken

Not happy but not upset - Joe Brady

Upset but not flipping a table - Robert Saleh, Brian Flores

Grab the pitchforks - Kellen Moore, Patrick Graham

Hasn't everybody predicted pretty much everyone by now?

FREDDIE KITCHENS WILL BE THE NEXT JAGUAR COACH.

There, that's it, all of em. Done.

Would love this hire personally. He's worked with Burrow and Allen. If anybody can elevate Lawrence it's Joe Brady. This is assuming that he also comes down here to head coach and run the offense as the play caller.

That then leaves the defensive coordinator position open for interpretation. However, would be pretty sick to pull Joe Brady in and then Khan and Baalke are able to pivot to him and say that they would also like Saleh to be the defensive coordinator and possibly assistant head coach with Brady having final say on personnel needs or the ability to override Baalke at least in critical areas of need.

Joe Brady and Robert Saleh in this division could go a long way.

His name is also an anagram of Job Ready, so you know it'll work out.

Oh wait, it's also an anagram of Drab Joey, maybe we end up the same as always.

Stupid tea leaves.

I've seen 4 different coaches called "the favorite" to be our next coach.

Something about a wall and things sticking etc

If y'all got greasy foreheads like me, ain't nothin should stick to that wall.

I think I’m at the point now where I am ok with either  of the Detroit coordinators. There are plus’s and minus’s to both.

Love what Glenn would bring to the locker room but what does he do at OC?

Love what Johnson could bring to the offense but are the reports from those who know him that he can bring the same kind of fire to the team accurate? He is very young.

Either one can be a great hire or potentially a big risk.

While I would prefer Johnson for Trevor but  would be ok with Glenn to.

Not as big of a fan of Saleh. And still think Coen is too inexperienced but they would be next.

Either way it’s going it take some risk on our part which is to be expected. Hopefully Johnson has some good DC candidates in mind as well if he ends up being the guy.

Again. I think it's down to Coen and Ben Johnson. Both guys seem to like Jacksonville.

Ben is just using Jacksonville to extract more money from Mark Davis. Ben and Tommy are already besties.

I don’t know what Coen has done that makes him better than Joe Brady. Trevor has Josh Allen like potential (albeit not quite as high a ceiling) in that he’s got wheels and can sling it down field. Why not give him the same offense?
