No you misread that. It says offered, not taken. Coen will probably turn the job down and stay in Tampa when they force another retirement. Then the Jags will have completely failed and will be left with no one exciting and Baalke will be looking for his next victim.

I just don't want the Jets old HC Robert Saleh. I don't know much about him other than the Jets sucked, I didn't see anything about his time in New York that makes me think there's a guy who can win. I don't even understand why his name keeps coming up!

I actually wouldn't hate Salah although I would prefer an offensive coach.

His D was good with the Jets he was just stuck with Zac Wilson and an ageing Rogers at QB.

I'm very disappointed we didn't get Johnson. He was the #1 option out there. I don't like people using his lack of HC experience as a reason to doubt him. He's been calling one of the best, most innovative O's in the league and done it without big name, high contract guys. You can point to plenty of co-ordinatiors who have had success as a HC. McVay, Shanahan, KOC.

The big question now is who is the FO's #1 target? Was it Johnson? Do they prefer someone else? They've had a long time to get their targets in order and positions are starting to get filled around the league. I'm hoping we'll hear something sooner than later about who we're going for but we continue to wait.

I was intially thinking Saleh because of the defense he could bring to this team but the more I think about it, the more he seems suited to being a coordinator. Will he be willing to do that or is he going to try to hold out for a HC position? If he doesn't that could be a best case scenario as long as we get an offensive minded head coach like Brady.

He use to be a linebacker coach for the Jags for a few seasons.

The mess in NY wasn't entirely his fault. However, he had moments of poor clock management and players were making too many dumb penalties. Oh, and very little adjustments mid-game. All those sound familiar?

It's why I don't feel he's HC material. DC is where he belongs.
