Fans? No. Worst record ever? No. Player quality? no. Wasted draft picks? no. Media lashing? no All obvious reasons in his face? no. Most importantly... Winning? no. Some guy spending 20 million of Jags money? no.
What did it take to get Khan over the edge? It took Shad Khan pacing back and forth throughout halls of Everbank field with his thumb in his [BLEEP] with Baalke probably farting and giggling the entire day while he waited for an in person interview with Coen. Once he realized Coen said F you, Khan's PJ awaited the tarmacs empty, and then he put it together why Ben J even denied and inperson interview. It's like an epiphany occurred for Khan. At last, the FIRST....and I mean FIRST... good FOOTBALL DECISION by SHAD KHAN. Wow. Now, let's see who the next GM is. If he just promotes Ethan WAUGH, it's all for nothing.
Too bad he spent a couple of weeks fishing his hands around the clogged gas station toilet that team leadership was and turned off the top candidates and the best young GM candidates went elsewhere.
I'm picturing the interim GM being hired yet again along with jerod mayo as the new coach. ![]()
I'm in agreement with those who say "better late than never." Johnson and Coen are obviously very good offensive minds, but it isn't like we just lost Vince Lombardi and Bill Belichick in the primes of their coaching careers. No guarantee that either of these two young coaches will succeed at their first attempt as head coach. Saleh definitely looks like the favorite right now. No doubt, he is a very good defensive coach however his record as a head coach is poor. Belichick had losing records in 4 of his 5 seasons with the Browns prior to his career with the Patriots. Now many consider him the greatest coach ever. It goes without saying that for the Jaguars to win with Saleh as head coach, they must also hire a very good offensive coordinator who can help Lawrence realize his potential.

Seems our choices are always after top candidates are gone. Maybe Leftwich comes home. Brings Brunell. And, Tom Coughlin. * TC comment just trying to get a reaction. But we look so completely disfunctional. Which obviously we are… I mean any good organization has a stable and reliable process to select and transition leadership.. we look like an absolute clown show. Agreed. The bottom line is that Khan is the source of the problem. The way he handled the end of the season is a perfect example. After years of everyone in the world saying Baalke had to go, Khan says Baalke stays . . . again. Then, after Baalke has yet again poisoned the pool of coaches to hire, THEN Khan says, "OK Trent, you've done all the damage you can do - time to go now." Foolish arrogance, stubbornness to the point of self-destruction. That is what we've experienced for the past few years. Khan is more concerned with everyone knowing he's in charge than he is with winning. OK, Shad. We all know you're the boss. Now, start acting like one and change what you're doing. Or sell the team. ![]()

Exactly..Shad defended him and said how important he was in that press conference. What changed in 3 weeks? And he was asked repeatedly why Baalke was staying. It's not like he wasn't aware of how the fanbase felt. Just a colossal [BLEEP] show. Khan- i have decided to bring back Doug pederson as OC with our new head coach urban Meyer, neilsen will be retained as DC
Baalke will be brought back as my personal EA
Well, I’ll echo that it’s better late than never. Still some good candidates out there.
Shad was simply so insulated that he didn't know how hated Baalke was. It took the cold hard truth of the two coaches he really wanted declining the job purely because of Baalke to beat it into his head.
Somehow this dip [BLEEP] has made the one thing everyone has been craving for years taste as bitter as possible. It’s almost sickening at this point. The most jaguar thing to do would be to act happy and spin this as something where the positive greatly outweighs the negative when the reality is our [BLEEP] hat of an owner fumbled the most obvious move he should have had since taking over the team.
At this point I fully expect him to hire a retread piece of [BLEEP] like Salah. To me it is Joe Brady or bust. [BLEEP] anything else, either go get the best out there or you don’t deserve my money or time. Especially after pulling this [BLEEP] off. If firing Baalke was always on the table why the [BLEEP] would you drag your feet this long to do it. At the speed this league moves, there is no way you can convince me waiting at alll(let alone three weeks) was an even remotely intelligent play. This was a reaction to this weeks hires by other teams(most of which are dumpster fires on historic levels) which proves to me that khan and his expert staff either a) just realized what everyone has been saying that people didn’t want to be a part of this organization while baalke was here, was in fact true. In which case they are [BLEEP] stupid beyond anything I ever imagined. Or b) they believed every interview went great and they were such a premier destination that people would endure working with someone our organization already knew was a detracting figure but figured candidates would over look this because Jacksonville was soooo [BLEEP] attractive. In which case they are equally [BLEEP] stupid. Either way they are [BLEEP] stupid and have lost any confidence I had in them to run a professional sports organization. It’s honestly [BLEEP] laughable. I understand that there are things fans do not know but for once it would be crazy if the things that were obvious to any of us or the national media were realized by this FO. [BLEEP] you Mr Khan. You seriously [BLEEP] suck We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
This is just embarrassing. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad Baalke is gone - but damn, the Jags look like even more of a clown show now.
Credit For Shad For getting rid of Baalke and learn what "clean house" means. The timing is very odd though.
Khan needs to bring in someone outside of the organization like a consultant firm or even inside like Tony Bosellii to hire the Gm/HC. Khan has proven he doesn't know how to find the right candidates.
