That's what he said.  How can he know that without discussing politics with his patients? You're saying he might have gotten that data from someone else's poll. No.  Those wouldn't be his patients.  They would be patients of any number of other therapists.

I've been seeing therapist off and on since 1995, and everyone I've seen will ask you generalized questions to get a feel of how your emotions work and on what issues they may pertain to so..... That's how they can come up with a plan to help you with whatever issue you may be dealing with. If any therapist you've seen did not go through this process, they were not doing their job or, they were never therapist to begin with or, you're lying about ever seeing one.

I've been seeing therapist off and on since 1995, and everyone I've seen will ask you generalized questions to get a feel of how your emotions work and on what issues they may pertain to so..... That's how they can come up with a plan to help you with whatever issue you may be dealing with. If any therapist you've seen did not go through this process, they were not doing their job or, they were never therapist to begin with or, you're lying about ever seeing one.

That is not fact. That is your experience based on personal opinion.  Not a fact.  You are not the grand poobah of determining facts. just an FYI. I can't dispute this guy's statistics of his business. I can only say that is his experience.

They always ask what brings you in today, what are your concerns, tell me about your childhood, tell me about your family responsibilities, do these concerns connect to your childhood, do these concerns connect to your family responsibilities. 

I suppose people sometimes bring up politics as they're fleshing out their answers to those things, but I don't and I doubt most people do.

Did he recruit patients at a Democratic party fundraiser? If so, that's not a representative sample anymore, and not really worth discussing.  So why discuss it?
