Fair enough. But, I'm still in the camp that believes Luck will be much better than Teddy. I hope that I'm wrong if the Jags do land him (which I am hoping for).

I want Bridgewater too. All I am saying is you guys act like 4 games into the season the players on this roster are going to be like "guys we should tank for Teddy"..... They are going to try get wins, and these rookies and other young players that are getting large amounts of playing time are going to improve.


It's very probable that we wouldn't get the #1 or even #2 pick with the roster we have now.

No coach is going to purposely put players on his team in a position to lose. Coaching decisions have nothing to do with it.

No. Even with the number one pick on the line, the coaches and players will be playing to win.

That's a personnel decision IMO, deciding whether or not a player will play. It's not a decision a coach is going to make during a game.


However, to my point you brought up this situation closer to the end of the year. As you can see they have no plans to do this stuff heading into week five. No one is thinking about tanking yet because it's way too early in the season and you risk losing the locker room and impeding player development.

If EJ Manuel 's MRI results come back with bad news, I think (and hope) the Bills might make a play for Josh Freeman. They are only 1 game below .500 and might see themselves as still in playoff contention.

My money is still on Browns. Rumor is Hoyer could be out for season. And if Wheedon falters, Freeman is a nice insurance policy if he doesn't win the job outright.


Plus they are currently in the lead for their division and I doubt they are in contention for #1 overall anymore.

Seems to me that if you aren't sold on one, not sure how you can be so sure about the other. 

 

Bridgewater has been just as impressive at the QB position in college as Clowney has as a DE position.

Somewhere someone is right now starting a Phd thesis on the rise of Teddy Bridgewater.

The guy plays well in a bowl game against a disinterested Florida defense and all of a sudden he's "something special".

On the level of Aaron Rodgers, no less.

This guy won't have a chance to live up to the hype.
