Josh Freeman Released - Jags Need To Claim Him!
|
He has a 4,000 yard season under his belt. He has thrown more than 25 tds in back to back seasons. He has a QB rating in the 90's in 2010. He's the better QB than we've had since Garrard in 2007.
Garrard's best season is Freeman's baseline average. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:They are starting to fear that we might get the best QB in the draft, and they don't want that to happen, because then we'll likely own the division for a good while. Wait a minute. How in the world are the Jags gonna "own" the division for a good while? The Colts have Luck. Didn't you say that about them? Bridgewater will own Luck? Idk bout that.
At the end of the day, worst case scenario would be he comes in, upgrades qb, we win a game or 3 and then miss out on teddy. No thanks.

Yes, I did, but I never counted on Bridgewater being that good as he's turned out to be. I'll take Bridgewater and our young group of talented wideouts going forward over Luck and old Reggie Wayne & T.Y. Hilton. Quote:Yes, I did, but I never counted on Bridgewater being that good as he's turned out to be.Fair enough. But, I'm still in the camp that believes Luck will be much better than Teddy. I hope that I'm wrong if the Jags do land him (which I am hoping for). We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

No thanks. .....or this team could win 3 -4 games anyway and we still loose out on Teddy...... ....and if Freeman goes to another team and returns to form...... Leaving our team without either.....
Quote:.....or this team could win 3 -4 games anyway and we still loose out on Teddy...... Gee, somehow I feel this team will be able to get over that "hardship" of missing out on Freeman. lolz @ "returns to form" as if this is some great player....Freeman is not a QB you win anything of substance with.
Quote:Gee, somehow I feel this team will be able to get over that "hardship" of missing out on Freeman.2 of the last 3 years as starter he has played very well statistically. Also for his career he has nine 4th quarter comebacks and 10 game winning drives. I'm not saying he is elite, but he is young and very talented. If we were guaranteed to get the #1 pick, I would be right there with you. But we are are only 0-4, not 0-14...there are still 12 games left on this season.

Bridgewater is going to be special....not just good.... These type of fortunate breaks don't come around all that often. I know I'd sure hate to miss out on Bridgewater all because we signed an average QB like Freeman that helped win us a few meaningless games in a dead season that culminated in putting us just outside the top picks in the draft.... Quote:Bridgewater is going to be special....not just good....I want Bridgewater too. All I am saying is you guys act like 4 games into the season the players on this roster are going to be like "guys we should tank for Teddy"..... They are going to try get wins, and these rookies and other young players that are getting large amounts of playing time are going to improve. It's very probable that we wouldn't get the #1 or even #2 pick with the roster we have now. Just remember when Elway tried to tank for Andrew Luck......

Yes, but Elways talent on defense that year was much better than ours. I said this before....I don't expect the Jags players to "tank it for Teddy" no "player" ever tries to lose....thats where coaching decisions/ personnel decisions come in - they can be orchestrated to get the desired outcome....
Quote:Yes, but Elways talent on defense that year was much better than ours. No coach is going to purposely put players on his team in a position to lose. Coaching decisions have nothing to do with it.

Lets say the Jags were in a close game late in the season, with the #1 pick being on the line....you don't think that a phantom "injury" or 2 might not pop up?.... Quote:Lets say the Jags were in a close game late in the season, with the #1 pick being on the line....you don't think that a phantom "injury" or 2 might not pop up?.... No. Even with the number one pick on the line, the coaches and players will be playing to win.

Quote:Lets say the Jags were in a close game late in the season, with the #1 pick being on the line....you don't think that a phantom "injury" or 2 might not pop up?.... That's a personnel decision IMO, deciding whether or not a player will play. It's not a decision a coach is going to make during a game. However, to my point you brought up this situation closer to the end of the year. As you can see they have no plans to do this stuff heading into week five. No one is thinking about tanking yet because it's way too early in the season and you risk losing the locker room and impeding player development.
If EJ Manuel 's MRI results come back with bad news, I think (and hope) the Bills might make a play for Josh Freeman. They are only 1 game below .500 and might see themselves as still in playoff contention.

And if Wheedon falters, Freeman is a nice insurance policy if he doesn't win the job outright. Plus they are currently in the lead for their division and I doubt they are in contention for #1 overall anymore. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Sorry, not sold yet. He's not "turned out" into anything yet. yet, you are sold on Clowney... Seems to me that if you aren't sold on one, not sure how you can be so sure about the other. Bridgewater has been just as impressive at the QB position in college as Clowney has as a DE position.
Somewhere someone is right now starting a Phd thesis on the rise of Teddy Bridgewater.
The guy plays well in a bowl game against a disinterested Florida defense and all of a sudden he's "something special". On the level of Aaron Rodgers, no less. This guy won't have a chance to live up to the hype.
The sun's not yellow, it's chicken.
