Also, give a glance to Brian Hoyer, Patriots backup QB for a few years- undrafted and played pretty darn good when he finally got the chance with Cleveland. Makes you womder about Ryan Mallet's potential. This year's Patriots also feature 7 rookies and 7 UDFAs.

 

OTOH, look at the rookie development under Jack Del Rio. One bust or unfulfilled rookie after another.

Good point! I always struggle with where to put Eli Manning. He won 2 Championships but if he were the Jags QB they wouldn't be any better off.


Same is true for Big Ben.


In fact if Joe Flacco was there I think the Jags would still be 0-4.


Combined these 3 QBs have won 5 of the last 8 Super Bowls. They are regarded as Franchise Quarterbacks. And none of them would have kept the Jags from 0-4.



I think I change my mind. It's both. Even Rodgers and the Packers aren't doing great right now. And in the endless Manning/Brady debates the one fact that always stands out is the Pats going 11-5 with Matt Cassel.

The 49ers got to the NFC title game the year before with Alex Smith. The Ravens won with Joe Flacco. Neither QB would have prevented the Jags from 0-4. Heck, Flacco threw 5 INTS last week against Buffalo!

Did you watch the Bills game last night?  The second EJ went down and that bum Tuel (who reminds me of Gabbert) came in they Bills chances of winning were completely over.  All offense stopped.  I have Fred Jackson on my fantasy team and he was RACKING up points, so was Spiller.  As soon as Tuel Bag came in, that all stopped as they failed to get more than I think 1 first down with him at center.

 

My girlfriend is a huge Bills fan being from Buffalo and once she started complaining I couldn't help but notice it was all of a sudden like watching a Jags game.  Thats what happens when your QB is garbage, they stack the box, stop the run and all offensive production stops.

You're way off. Jaguars main problem is QB. They can't drive or score. A first down is a rare event. A 3rd down conversion...You have a better chance of being struck by lightning while being hit by a bus driven by a purple colored midget.

Yes, please lets do that with Brady or Manning... and watch our team instantly become contendors.  You know why?  Because everybody plays harder when they believe the QB can lead them to a victory and sees them making plays.  Even the Defense plays harder because they know if they get the opposing teams O off the field their QB will do some more good things.  

 

Nobody on the Jags gives a flying F... thats obvious.  This team isn't playing hard right now, whey would they?  Is anybody on our defense going to risk their career so Gabbert can have another 3 and out drive?
