Greg Jones: The Beast visits with the Falcons

Greg Jones doesn't do push ups. He pushes the earth down.
Beast
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
Quote:what is your point? you really seem like kind of a hater for a so called fan Oh please, if you and some of the other "beast" fans would be honest, you'd admit your loyalties are deeper to Fla State Greg Jones than anything he did with the Jags anyway.....hell, even the highlights that someone provided were from Fla State.... Greg Jones with the Jags was simply overrated. Always has been. Thats why my responses have usually been tepid regarding him. He was never a "beast" for the Jags. Decent FB? Sure. Beast? lolz, no.
Quote:My Wife works with his cousin here in town. Just because he is built never translated to being an elite NFL player. For some reason, some on here never seemed to get that. Otherwise, Hulk Hogan would have been an NFL star back in the day. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! I see... you hate FSU and/or think Floridians are stupid hayseed fanboys. Explains your anti-Stork obsession...

Great player. Did the dirty work for this team for a long time, the camera never follows the FB. And he was a dominant run blocker in his day.

Definitely miss the attitude he brought to our offense, and team in general.

Sure his best days are behind him but to sat he was overrated here as a fb is disingenuous, to be nice. There was a time there he was one of the best, if not the best blocking fullback in the league, and a huge reason the run game was very good.

This is the best Greg Jones story. Although Dockett denies it, I tend to believe it is true.
This is as told by Chris Rix: <p class="" style="font-family:'Mercury SSm A', 'Mercury SSm B', Georgia, serif;color:rgb(41,41,41);font-size:16px;font-style:italic;"> Quote:<p class="" style="font-family:'Mercury SSm A', 'Mercury SSm B', Georgia, serif;color:rgb(41,41,41);font-size:16px;font-style:italic;">Speaking of dorm rooms, we're hanging out at Burt Reynolds Hall, which is the dorm where underclassmen stay at Florida State. My room was right next to Greg Jones' room. They're hanging out playing video games, Madden was just getting big at this time, and we had both of our doors open.

Quote:Just because he is built never translated to being an elite NFL player.probably becuase of blowing out his knee...twice nobody on this board is suggesting that he was a great NFL player, but he was showing signs of being a legit NFL RB before he had his 2nd ACL tear from there he went on to be a very good FB, you don't have to be a game changer to be a fan favorite Quote:probably becuase of blowing out his knee...twiceOr a beast for the matter.....

One could make the case that letting Greg Jones go hurt MJD. That being said, we're still talking about a fullback. He was a good guy and certainly contributed in part to Drew's success over the years, but I cringed any time they tried to use him as a short yardage back. The guy was a hammer, but he was slow to hit the holes in the line, and in most cases, barely moved the sticks.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Quote:Oh please, if you and some of the other "beast" fans would be honest, you'd admit your loyalties are deeper to Fla State Greg Jones than anything he did with the Jags anyway.....hell, even the highlights that someone provided were from Fla State....I don't know, Greg Jones has blocked for more 1,000 yard rushers than any active fullback in the NFL. I agree he wasn't a great runner after his injuries but a great fullback for the Jaguars, he surely was.
THERE IS A SKELETON INSIDE OF YOU.
RIGHT NOW. THIS IS NOT A JOKE.
Quote:I don't know, Greg Jones has blocked for more 1,000 yard rushers than any active fullback in the NFL. Yawn, you or I could have blocked for the same RB he did and they'd have still got 1000 yards. We're talking Fred Taylor and MoJo in prime here... |
