The Jaguars want a pass rusher "badly" according to Peter King

#21

TMD must be bored. "hmmm what can I say today to start a giant baseless argument?"

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Quote:if his last name was Clowney, I could see that, but Mack passes the name test

...duh

I didn't say "watch Mack bust if the Jaguars draft him"

I just said "watch Mack bust". which would be irrelevant of whatever team takes him. (other than the Steelers, then its an automatic stud pass rushing 3-4 OLB because thats what they do)

The hype for this small school kid seems to be ridiculous. He has one good game against Ohio State and now everyone assumes he can star in the big time. Maybe he is that good, but usually when hype greatly exceeds production, those players tend to disappoint once in the NFL.

I've noticed he's using hash tags quite a bit more lately like all the other 13 year old girls.

Couple weeks ago King had Jags at QB. Caldwell is talking to the right people who think they are sources I think.

You want to use the small school excuse...ok I can buy that, You want to use the late hype...ok fine. But you can you the lack of production vs hype as an excuse. The kid had 100 tackles, 10.5 sacks a few picks. He did a little of everything and did it while fundamentaly sound.

He has all the makings of a great prospect. He could bust but hey anybody ever drafted could bust.

I said lack of production per the hype. I didn't say he made no plays. The hype still far exceeds the production. The way the hype has been going with Mack, you'd think he was a 20 QB sack guy all 4 years of SEC division football. Tackles, lol....teams can and do inflate those numbers, btw...its not an official stat.

Quote:Exactly, If the NFL gets what they want and we don't get the #1 pick (just like in 2012 with Luck) then I'd hope we'd at least be smart enough to either take Clowney or trade down with a team that really wants Clowney.

It would be such a #becausejaguars moment if they actually took Mariota at 2. As you say, the dropoff from Bridgewater to any other QB in this draft is huge. None of them are even close to be worthy of the #2 pick.

Quote:Unless the Bucs fire Schiano soon, its not going to be that close. The Jaguars will win a few meaningless games down the stretch (#becausejaguars) and the Bucs will go 0-16. All you had to do was watch that game last night.

Quote:Well, I'm one of those delusional Jaguars fans that thinks we are going to win ball games from this point forward because of a pretty easy schedule and....well......

#becausejaguars

...because us winning games from this point forward is essentially a negative for us, so it will happen.

also, Tampa is better on paper than many think, but they sure have the look of a team on the field that has very little interest in making that reality. I won't be shocked to see them at 0-16. Glennon is crap.

Quote:oh, you mean the guy that just took scraps for Monroe?

I knew this would happen, predicted it in the other thread....Teddy would have an off game (for him) when the Jags brass was there, and our GM will probably be there in person when one of the other scrub QB has the game of their life (ala Gene Smith & Gabbert vs Iowa ) and our GM will wind up not taking Bridgewater......

why?

Quote:Ugh, this concerns me....

I am guessing that with the short week, Bridgewater is not going to have his top WR for this game, DeVante Parker as he went out with injury last week vs Temple.

Knowing #becausejaguars.....this will probably have an effect on Teddy's production for the upcoming game Thursday, and our scouts will be too stupid to take this into consideration and thus come away from this game with an opinion of Teddy that is selling him short....

Impossible scenario? remember, this is the Jaguars we are talking about....

Quote:It just seems too good to be true...

The Jags are probably going to screw this up somehow....

probably win a few meaningless games during the 2nd half to put us out of the #1 overall pick

why?

#becausejaguars

thats why.

After all our suffering as fans, I think we're owed Bridgewater to the Jags!!! Don't ruin this for us!!!!

Yup.  It's definitely perception issues.  That was one search on one term, and I found all these in less than a minute.  Like I said, you're using hash tags like a 13 year old girl.

You said recently...  or "quite a bit more lately" in post 25 which I disputed. I never disputed that I haven't used it (especially for #becausejaguars) in the past...

If you have to go back to January 2014 and even as far back as October 2013 to try and make your point, I guess you don't really have much of one.

Production per hype? Who's the judge of that? You have your opinion on him, I have mine.

The glittery two step has begun.  Twist it.  Spin it. Massage it as you must.  One search and I had more than a dozen examples in less than 5 minutes.  You are indeed as masculine as a 13 year old girl.  I'm betting you've got a Bieber and Timberlake poster on your wall in mom's basement, and possibly a One Direction tattoo honoring your favorite band.

Wrong, I used your words. i.e "he's using hashtags quite a bit more lately" If you have to go back over 6 months to get some of your "proof" then, it seems like you are the only one spinning & tapping here.
