Quote:No fear whatsoever. Just laughing at the stupidity of taking one at 3 when there are better players available. Some people have a different belief than you. Doesn't make their thoughts stupid. One could make the argument that a franchise qb (yes we know you don't think any are) is the best player available. I don't see anything stupid about that. Change the names and we had the same conversations last year about Geno. This is beyond old.

Quote:Change the names and we had the same conversations last year about Geno. This is beyond old. Ok? That doesn't really change anything I said.
Quote:No fear whatsoever. Just laughing at the stupidity of taking one at 3 when there are better players available. After pro days, I started to rewatch cutups, and Bortles is FAR from the shortest reach, IMO. He stares down his receivers and for whatever reason his arm doesn't look live during games. He's easily the 3rd best QB, but Manziel and Bridgewater are much smaller reaches to my mind.
Quote:Because the fear of drafting a QB is real here. People are terrified of taking a QB this high. I even see people say that we should take Matthews because he's the "safe" pick. This is flat out not true. I really REALLY want the Jags to draft Manziel. I think he is the best QB prospect and I know this is not a popular opinion here. But I believe he will perform under pressure like no other. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Ok? That doesn't really change anything I said. And? I don't worry about the minority fringe opinion. Good luck finding many who agree that there's better value selecting a QB at #3 than other players who will be available. The only defense against madness is the accord of your peers. That is, if you can convince no one that your beliefs are well-founded, then it's probably you who are crazy, and not the herd. - Alexandre Kojeve

Quote:No fear whatsoever. Just laughing at the stupidity of taking one at 3 when there are better players available. Fortunately that's just your opinion, and there are plenty who think otherwise including myself. I want the team to be able to take Teddy. I think my post record shows that. Honestly though, if we don't get Teddy I'd be ok with whoever else they pick as long as it's not Matthews. Bortles, Carr, Manziel, Clowney, Watkins, Mack, whoever. I just hope it's Teddy. I want the team to run away from Chad Henne as fast as humanly possible. And the best way to do that is to pick the best QB in this draft who also happens to be the most NFL ready - Teddy.
Quote:And? I don't worry about the minority fringe opinion. Good luck finding many who agree that there's better value selecting a QB at #3 than other players who will be available. It only takes one man to agree with him, his name is David Caldwell. Quote:Just to be different, Bortles.

I obviously don't care about the majority. I stick with what I see in players. It's burned me plenty and I've been right plenty. Disclaimer: I'm not claiming to be some draft expert either. Interesting information on Ted: http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/cfb/3...at-188-lbs Wonderlics were just released, and Ted was only six points higher than Garrard with a 20. A lot of folks repeat the "trust the tape" mantra as well. But... http://nfl.si.com/2014/04/09/jimmy-garop...nfl-draft/ Add to that Mayock's revelation that when he went back to look at tape after Ted's poor Pro Day, he was not impressed (he had done little or no tape study on Ted prior to then, but was mostly following the herd.) So, IMO this "NFL ready" talk has been a bit premature and perhaps misguided. Quote:Ive not been stupid or arrogant enough to make a bold prediction either way. Neither have I. What did you think I meant about being "wrong?" I was referring to my opinion being wrong about Ted, that I don't believe we would or should take him as high as #3.

Even after struggling at his Pro Day, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Friday that Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater's private workouts with NFL clubs "have also gone very shakily."
Mort believes Bridgewater's forthcoming draft-day slide won't occur solely because of his Pro Day. He says Bridgewater's private passing sessions with teams have been underwhelming, too. Mortensen added that teams remain concerned with Bridgewater's smallish hands. Once considered the likely No. 1 overall pick, Bridgewater's fall could ultimately mimic Geno Smith's from last year. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff. Quote:Even after struggling at his Pro Day, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Friday that Louisville QB Teddy Bridgewater's private workouts with NFL clubs "have also gone very shakily."This is a textbook example of why you don't tank for players. Too many potential variables between the tank job and the draft. Best to improve what you know by getting the most out of your current roster.
Manziel will the best qb outta this draft. Teddy doesn't have the accuracy needed for this level of competition.

Quote:Manziel will the best qb outta this draft. Teddy doesn't have the accuracy needed for this level of competition.within 10 yds he does. But thats when NFL defense stack the box and dont give him the short throws and he dont have the arm strength to not make the D not cheat and keep them honest! Im not nockin the guy he just is who he is and you cant fix it!
