Bridgewater's struggles continue?!?
|
Quote:No it's not because dan marino got a 13 on the wonderlic and big ben, david garrard and many others has low scores as well. Ya'll bridgewater haters are really reaching and trying to find reasons not to like him which is pathetic if you ask me. Oh by the way over belove Blaine Gabbert had gotten a 42 on the wonderlic so that tells a person what a score really dictates to a smart GM like Caldwell. The tape doesn't like and real football players are great at their craft.I'm pretty sure the Wonderlic score has absolutely nothing to do with the concerns expressed in this thread, but hey, whatever keeps ya warm and fuzzy over your man, Teddy. I continue to stand by the fact that I think Bridgewater is nothing more than a media concocted phenom who is closer to average than top pick material in this QB draft. There are more than enough flags there to cause concern for any team with a high pick, including the Jaguars. After listening to all the hype over the past several months, when I got an opportunity to watch a couple of his games, let's just say he was underwhelming. Not a guy I'd want to dangle out there as a franchise QB. I don't think there is one in this draft, to be honest. There are good ones, including Bridgewater, but there are none that really stand out. Each has legitimate concerns. In the end, maybe we find a guy in the draft we can develop into something effective in our scheme. Maybe we don't. I'm sure the team is going to give it a shot by grabbing one of the oft mentioned names we've all heard. But, I think they'll be tempering any enthusiasm by making it clear that no matter who that might be, there will be a process in place to develop him, and in the meantime, Henne is the starting QB for the Jaguars. Let's hope that defense really rises to the challenge. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

He is a lot like Dalton in that. Get him out of rhythm, make him move and reset, and he fails to see the field properly and major mistakes ensue.
Correct me if I'm wrong but according to TB agent he's only had 1 private workout. Wasn't that one workout right here at 1 Everbank?
Is it possible that this leak came from the Jags FO?

The only thing I'd totally disagree with you on is that if we take a guy at 3, Henne will be lucky to make week 8 as the starting QB. Heck if we take a guy in the first 3 rounds, Henne wont finish the season. P.S. Pirkster. This is how someone expresses a negative opinion on a player without attracting flames. Note the use of qualifiers like 'I think' and 'maybe'. Quote:Just to be different, Bortles.

i don't really understand this defending Teddy thing. i like him, if you like him be okay with it. the ppl who don't like Teddy aren't going to be swayed by anything you point out or someone else points out. at this point, you fuel them to troll you harder the more you defend. if we don't get him, eh whatever. if we do get him great. some of you weren't around when Blaine was getting hype here because of talking heads. they were thoroughly warned then, didn't listen. they aren't going to listen now, because if they are wrong, they can point to the talking heads and say they were wrong too.
Quote:MAybeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I'm surprised no one has connected the dots yet. Either Dave is trying to trash Teddy in hopes that he has a draft day slide or he really looked like crap earlier this week.

Quote:Correct me if I'm wrong but according to TB agent he's only had 1 private workout. Wasn't that one workout right here at 1 Everbank?Well, the agent said they've had multiple visits but only one workout. Maybe when the Jags had their cavalcade of prospects Wednesday and Thursday all they did was meet with them and they didn't actually put them through workouts. No one knows, and the agent could have been lying too of course. Quote:I'm surprised no one has connected the dots yet. So if the Jags was the one workout (and not just a visit) he looked really good to them, again just according to the agent. We show less advertisements to registered users. I really don't understand this "After going back and looking at the tape..." stuff. I don't understand how a player who was a consensus #1 or #2 overall pick for 2 years can drop to possibly the 2nd round on people's boards in 2 weeks "after going back and looking at the tape." I call BS. Either you're an idiot and have no idea what you're looking at or you didn't look at any tape in the first place. There is no way suddenly the tape looks worse than it did a month ago. It's lazy journalism. Period.
These experts are no better evaluators of talent than an educated fan. I've been a huge fan of the draft and been meticulously dissecting it for 12 years now. I remember watching and breaking down Terrence Newman versus Marcus Trufant back in the day. The only reason these guys are given so much clout is because of the availability of game tape they've had and the ability to talk to scouts who may or may not be throwing propaganda. Recently, over the last 4 or 5 years, the tape has become more and more available. These talking heads probably spend less time watching tape than an avid draft fan. They aren't scouts - they have a full-time media gig. Don't get anything twisted - these guys follow the ratings. The ratings go to whoever can say "I told you so. I was right first." They have an ego and they fit stories into their agenda - right or wrong. If you are influenced by anything other than what you see for yourself on tape, then you are a fool. If these guys favor Manziel over Bridgewater then they are entitled to their wrong opinions. What's irksome, though, is moving well-scouted players all over the damn place for ratings sake and watching the sheep follow. It's embarrassing.

My general rule of thumb is to not believe any rumors regarding prospects leading up to the draft.

He showed nothing on tape but people didn't even watch it, they just followed the hype. Quote:<div></div> Trolls gonna troll. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Wasn't that one workout right here at 1 Everbank? No he didnt workout in Jacksonville, he just had a visit and players are not allowed to work out on the 30 visits teams get, they are only allowed to workout in private workouts. This right here shows it was all BS, how can Teddy Bridgewater be struggling in workouts if he only had 1 workout LOL, and I highly doubt the single team he worked out for is gonna leak info that would lead back to them. So now back to what I said somebody is trying to get Teddy to fall to them by telling Mort lies

Quote:There something called hype, people fall into it, remember the Sharrif Floyd hype last year? He showed nothing on tape but people didn't even watch it, they just followed the hype. That's all your draft experts in a nutshell. Giant hype machines with no more expertise than an informed fan. If you have to go back and look at tape on the most scouted player in the draft, and are way off from your initial analysis, then someone needs to sound the alarm bells. Quote:My comment was not a knock on Bridgewater! Just on the comments on here after his pro-day! My money says I did more scouting the first day of the off-season than you will do all year! Kind of like you said I was wrong in the qb thread, took your shot, then did not respond when proved wrong? Sorry things are not working out with your Teddy relationship, but how many times are you going to use the Russell had the best pro day ever line to try to make your point? First of all IDK what your talking about when I said you were wrong, I dont live on the MB and read everything, and if your were doing so much scouting why are you on the messageboard? Oh you mean Youtube LOL. 2nd my Teddy relationship? IDK what your taking about, I dont bash other players to raise up Teddy like other people on here do for their fav players. The only player you see me bashing mostly is Aaron Muarry because too many people on here overrate him. I would love for us to draft Johnny Manziel, I dont want Brotles so high because I believe he is too raw and I just dont like Carr high, he is a 2nd round guy to me, but you have never seen me bash any one of those guys, only saying they have high bust potential. I keep bringing up the Russell Pro day because you people keep holding pro days as the great standard to judge a prospect. Only people in the media and sheep like you on MB's have changed drastically on these top prospects, my top guys are the same now as they were once the season ended, I dont let the combine and pro day change what top guys did on tape in real games. You can do that and get you a Blaine Gabbert, while I will land me Aaron Rodgers.

So, lemme get this straight....
Teddy Bridgewater in actual games = good Teddy Bridgewater in practice/ playing catch with no defenders = bad and because he's struggling in shells & shorts, hez gonna fall liek Genoz. lol Quote:This is baffling to me. Practice never trumped actual game production to me. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Maybe Teddy is tanking for us
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.
Quote:First of all IDK what your talking about when I said you were wrong, I dont live on the MB and read everything, and if your were doing so much scouting why are you on the messageboard? Oh you mean Youtube LOL.I watch 6-8 games every weekend, most of which are recorded the old fashioned way (classic vhs) which I go back and watch after the season (along with alot of reading reports, mocks, times, etc), no you-tube cut-ups like some self-proclaimed scouts on here use you-tube is for music). Sorry to bunch you in with the fanboys. I dont like Carr high either, Bortles I do like. Carr looks like a over-hyped 3rd rounder to me (feel like Savage may end up better, with the same if not a better arm) |
