I had and i think most people had respect for Freddy when he left and went to the Pats, i can't say i have respect for Mojo, and i may not be the only fan who feels that way.

The bottom line here is that MJD is an aging back with 1800 carries who has started to show signs of decline due to injury and conditioning problems.  Toss in a holdout, and he sealed his own fate as far as his long term future in Jacksonville.  There's a reason he wound up getting a pretty cheap deal in Oakland, and why no other teams made a serious run at signing him.  He landed in a no-man's land where careers go to die. 

 

Had he not held out, and took his conditioning more seriously, he probably would have been given an opportunity to wind down his career with the Jaguars. He sealed his own fate by his actions.

 

Gerhart should be able to put up solid stats in an offense that is more than likely going to change its identity from a running attack to a more balanced, or even more pass heavy system.

I was strictly speaking from a production point of view, but I agree with some of the above. I had more respect for Mojo prior to his behavior/ actions over the last 3 years.

Everything about the Fred Taylor situation was handled better than the way things played out for MJD.  Unlike Drew, Taylor accepted the role of mentor here in Jacksonville, and was willing to take a different role in the offense toward the end of his time here.  He didn't hold out, and he continued to work hard to maintain his physical conditioning.

 

After he was gone, he never took shots at the team.  He was rewarded once his career ended with a spot in the Pride, and he was embraced by the organization and the fans as if he'd never left. 

 

MJD could have learned a thing or two from his mentor about doing things the right way.  He chose to listen to his agent.

Drew was a good player and got paid $30+ million from the jaguars to play.  He performed well and got paid fair for it.  I did not like the fact he decided to hold out and came into camp out of shape last year. (Even with injury he flat out got fat)  I think it worked out for both sides that he found a new team.  I dunno if he still is a feature back

that'd be a terrible trade, imo.

 

Clowney looked beastly against college olines.

I don't think he'll be so scary in the pros. And I don't think he is worth trading up 2 spots and trading away picks. Certainly when it is very possible the tinhorns go QB and Rams take Watkins or Robinson...

 

Stick to your board and pick a guy, or trade BACK for MORE picks.

 

Don't be afraid of what another team may or may not do or what some player may become.
