I've watched my father tilt a bottle of apple cider vinegar straight up and take a huge pull off of it.  It almost makes me shudder to think about it.

You kidding? It was horrible as a kid.. The thought of it seems cool, but trying to stomach that stuff as a kid, made me queasy a lot.. Now as I got older, I played sick a lot more often

My Filipino wife eats their own special brand of vinegar hell.  They have several different varieties and every one of them will curl your toe nails.  Imagine very strong fishy smelling fish with raw onions swimming in high octane vinegar.  I can't stay in the same room.

You know some countries make beer using vinegar. I've actually tried some, wasn't all that bad. High malty flavor.. Would never be my kind of choice though.

Sorry, swap "beer" and "vinegar".. I just re-read what I posted.. Some countries make vinegar from beer is what I meant to say.. And that's pretty malty.. Great on fish and chips.. I still like the apple cider vinegar and white distilled better though.
