I try to avoid threads like these when they become FSU/UF "I know you are but what am I" debates.

Quote:The argument still applies, a better winning pct does not mean "better" overall.
Ok so please give us the requirement to define who has had better football program?

Also, as I conceded earlier, it's close. We have same number of titles and almost identical winning percentage. Who cares? Right now, today, we are defending champs and beat you last. I'm not really that concerned with what the Noles did in the 1970's.

Quote:Janoris Jenkins and Cam Newton were NFL talents kicked off the team. All teams have issues, but UF at least does something about it.

FSU is just like, "you need test answers? Here you go."

"Rape somebody? We will cover it up."

Calm down badger, UF doesn't have a stellar past of taking the appropriate actions against guys who do stupid stuff.

I 100% agree with you, but you sound like a UF fan from a few years ago....

Difference is I can find some common ground.

And that is the perks of winning. Bragging rights for the year.

Quote:Again, consider the level of competition in the ACC especially a long time ago.

Plus UF is ahead in the rivalry record. So I WILL carry on. Tyvm

34-22-2

Its barely a rivarly with that kind of lopsided record

Congrats on beating FSU before they cared about football. Since FSU started taking football seriously in 1976, it's 20-19 in favor of FSU.

Quote:It isnt ridiculous. It is a fact that UF has a better, more historic tradition. FSU having a better all time winning pct is skewed by their recent success too as well as playing in the ACC. UF was busy building historic rivalries in the SEC with schools like UGA and TEN. FSU was playing small ball during those times.

Ya, I mean, my flag football team has a better winning pct than UF and fsu. That doesnt mean we have better tradition.

Lol at this notion that Florida was building "historic" rivalries. No one outside of the southeast cares about UF-Tennessee or UF-UGA.

FSU-Miami is a much more historic rivalry than those two you listed.

The argument is dumb, but are you serious.  Forget im a UF fan and please explain how an in-state ACC rivalry game better than one of the most popular games in the NCAA UF-UGA.  Even TEN, BAMA, AUB, or OLE MISS-UF, is better than an ACC title game  unless its an undefeated or 1L each MIA-FSU game.  Anyways, you must be talking b-ball but i'll take UF and Duke

I hate to burst your bubble, but not every rivalry in the SEC is the best.

Most, if not all, of the rivalries in the SEC are a regional brand. FSU-Miami is on a national scale. When both schools were in their prime, it was THE rivalry in college football.

Imagine for a second that the roles here are reversed.  FSU has the all time record by 12 or whatever it is, but Florida fans say "Well we didn't even care about football until (enter year here), and we have the better record from then on!"  I find it hard to believe FSU fans wouldn't ridicule us mercilessly, and they would have every right to do so because it is a terrible arguement.

It all comes full circle, just as I said it would a long time ago. Fans are fans are fans.
