My question is more how AAL would have gotten a Twitter users' IP address. Also surprised that they replied directly to her.

Twitter captures the IP on every post made. Pretty sure that if American sent that tweet over, Twitter would be only too happy to immediately pass that user's entire history along to the relevant authorities.

 

She claimed to be a girl living in the Netherlands, adding: "I'm just a fangirl pls I don't have evil thoughts and plus I'm a white girl," according to the <i>Daily News</i>.
