You and I wish I was Dexter. The guy was an elite draftnik, for sure.

He must have taken Junior Seau pretty hard.

If Bridgewater sinks break out the seam-rippers. Nike is just too amazing for their own bad.

I'd be a little disappointed at taking another tackle 2 years in a row as I'd much rather draft a QB, Mack or Clowney

Matthews is elite. He's just as good as Joeckel if not better, and he's comfortable playing the ORT position, unlike JOeckel.

In a division with Houston, which is a great pass rushing team when healthy, countering that with as good an OL as can be would likely prove very beneficial.

Irregardless of how good Matthews is, it is not an easy sell. Nor are most fans going to get excited about it.

I'm skeptical that the team would go Matthews at #3.  Especially if someone like Clowney is still on the board when we pick.

Quote:Yeah really.....since when in a draft that includes Manziel would "the Texas A & M kid" be Matthews or Evans??

Exactly.  Manziel is the pick.  Yall need to start daydreaming about how awesome we can be and the new tricks we can work into the offense.  Manziel is our man.  Take it to the bank.

If Manziel is the pick at 3, Caldwell should prepare for the flaming to follow.

They won't select Matthews over Clowney, if both are available at their pick. I could see the Jags trading down with another team that really wants Clowney though.

Irregardless is not a word.

And I know that Matthews wouldn't be an easy sell, but that doesn't necessarily make it a bad selection. As said, you need to consider the division and countering What teams like the Texans have on defense. 2 Bookend star Tackles and top OL, overall, would really help negate what a healthy Houston defense could do vs us.

If Clowney is there at 3, I don't see them trading down.  If Houston takes Clowney, I can see Matthews becoming more of a priority.

Quote:I wouldn't mind Matthews being the pick after a trade down, or multiple trades down.

I would mind selecting him at 3.
Flip Flop Much? what is it? you mind selecting him at 3 or you would not mind selecting him at 3.

Im all for it Jokel ??? Lewis Beadles Mathews, That would be a dominant line for years to come.

Nothing's being flip flopped.

I'll try to type it a little slower, so maybe you'll understand...

Whats being said is the only issue that I would have is selecting Matthews at 3 while Clowney is still on the board.

I wouldn't have an issue selecting Matthews at 3 after Clowney is already gone, and I wouldn't have an issue trading down from 3, if another team sought Clowney there and then the Jags selected Matthews later. Value would have been gained with extra draft picks.

I know I would have an issue with it if I thought there was a Aikman, Manning, Rodgers like QB in this draft like you think
