Undertakers WrestleMania win streak just came to an end.

#41

Accuttley I heard a long time ago that taker was suppose to have his streak broeken by lesnar. I really wasn't that surpised,I was expecting it to happen soon.

Yes most of wrestleing is fake, except the injurys  that happen sometimes from accedients  dureing the show. I watch wrestleing myself, if you really think about it, its meant to be a  mans soap opra.  no offense to woman that watch soap opreas,or wrestleing intended.

Quote:No, it wasn't. Late 80's WWF was the golden age of the "sport"

More iconic wrestlers/ their persona's came from that era than at any time since.
Iconic personas and no talent.

Thank you very much for your obvious yet unneeded insight. We all know that it's fake. But a chair shot, a dive off the top rope to the floor, and a chest slap from Big Show are definitely not fake. These guys put their bodies on the line all the time. HHH tore his quad right off the bone and kept wrestling, Mick Foley got choke slammed through the top of the cage unscripted and finished his match, and I can go on and on. It's entertaining. I call it dude soap operas.

As far as the wrestling hey days I can agree the 80s were a golden era, the early 90s it got bad and uncompetitive with WCW. But during the Attitude Era was what made wrestling explode in popularity. Hogan paved the way, but Stone Cold, Rock, and HHH made it the monster that it is today.

I appreciate your opinions but I've never heard someone be negative about nearly EVERYTHING as you. You seem to be a sad and bitter creature TMD. Life's too short, be happy friend!

I was talking to a co-worker today who is a wrestling fan and he echoed the very same points.  While I made my derisive little drive-by earlier in the thread about the legitimacy of pro wrestling, these are undeniable points.  These guys really do put their bodies through hell to put on a show.

Not spin. Fact.

Their athletic ability was severely lacking. They were mostly just body builders.

Also, read some of the books these wrestlers wrote. McMahon literally had a doctor administering steroid injections in the locker room. It isn't a secret.

As far as greatest goes, surely you know how opinions work?

You can't compare the wrestlers of today to the 80's. They are way more athletic and skilled today than they were 15years ago, much less 25.

That may be true, but the biggest difference is the personalities and characters.  The wrestlers of today cant touch them.

I didn't say it wasn't fact did I? Guess what, it was still the greatest era for the WWF. That's a widely held opinion of the vast majority in the business and of fans.

If it's a fact, I didn't spin anything.

Also, most fans consider the Attitude Era as the best as far as I've seen and heard.

The "Attitude Era" is what I am speaking of. It is the best ever. Most agree that was mid 90's to early 2000's. I think it started a bit earlier then that myself. 92/3ish.

I saw that on the WWE network and it was awesome. It wouldn't have made much sense if he fought anyone but Jake the Snake and said it. But man was it awesome. Now his stunner at that time, well it was just horrible, lol.

I haven't watched wrestling for awhile. Last time I watched, the characters were kind of bland and generic, minus CM Punk. Sad to hear undertaker is retiring, but he's been past his prime for years now.
